You guys are going to get 2 TBRs in 1 day as I am doing this TBR and my normal monthly TBR for Jan! But oh well! There is just so much going on lately!
So the Winter Biannual Bibliothon is going from the 20th till 26th of Jan. For all the info about it including links, video challenges and anything else I could find, please check out my ReadAThon guide for Jan as I go into full details and I’m not going to do it again here!
ReadAThon Guide – Jan 2018
1. Read the group book
2. Read a sequel
3. Read a book that you have never heard of before
4. Read a book about mental illness
5. Read a book that was mentioned in another book/movie/TV Show
6. Read a book under 200 pages
7. Read a backlist book
You can use 1 book for up to 2 challenges, I am going to pick 7 individual books for the 7 challenges, however when it gets to the ReadAThon and I’m running behind I might do some doubling up!
Otherworld is the Group Book for the WBB, so obviously I will be reading it.
This one is for Read a sequel. This book could also be used for the Read a backlist book, if I choose to double up when the ReadAThon comes.
This is for the challenge Read a book that you have never heard of before.
So to find this book I went to Scribd, which if you don’t know is a monthly subscription service where you pay a certain amount and get 3 eBook credits and 1 audiobook credit a month. So all I did was go on Scribd, go into the Fantasy section and have a look at some of the books that came up and this is what I chose. I went through a fair few before choosing this one but they either had bad reviews or sounded very romance based.
This is for the challenge Read a book with mental Illness.
So I’m not actually 100% sure if this book deals with mental illness but it came up in a list of mental illness books and I own it. So I chose it.
So, I couldn’t think of any off the top of my head that I hadn’t already read, so I just googled it and found an awesome discussion post on Goodreads as this same prompt was one of the prompts in 2017 Advanced PopSugar Reading Challenge. So that was handy! You can find that HERE if you need some help! I choose Alice as it was listed a couple times as mentioned in different books! I also thought afterwards that an easy book for this could be either Quidditch Through the Ages, The Tales of Beedle the Bard or Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as they are all mentioned in the Harry Potter books obviously!!
This is for the challenge Read a book under 200 pages. According to Goodreads, this is over 200 but according to the copy I have, it is under. So it counts!
This is for the challenge Read a Backlist book. They are counting any book released prior to 2017 as backlist. So this definitely counts as it was released in 1996, it is literally older than me!
Well, that is my TBR! I’m pretty confident about it as 3 of the books at least are pretty short. It will be a total of 1,905 pages if I read all of these. That was calculated using the goodreads page counts for each book as some are eBooks, some physical and some I haven’t received yet. So using the Goodreads page count was easier.
