This tag is such an interesting concept! I saw it on Kirstyandthecatread but I tried to find who started this tag but I can’t find it. So if you know or you have linked them in your own post please let me know so I can acknowledge them on the post.
So, on to the questions!
Who would your parents be?
Molly and Arthur Weasley! They are so kind, caring and loving. They are just such gorgeous people!
Who would be your sister?
I would love to have Rose Hathaway as a sister. She is such a strong and badass woman!
Who would be your brother?
This is really hard to decide, do I have to have just 1?! I’m choosing 3. The first is Loki Staad from the Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking and the second and third is the Weasley Twins!
Who would be your pet?
Again, I’m not choosing one! I love animals, and I will never have just one pet! haha.
So, I’m choosing Hedwig and Crookshanks from Harry Potter. I also really want a Pygmy Puff from Harry Potter as well, they are super cute! Lastly, I want a Tralla Horse from the Kanin Chronicles. I know they are mostly from Harry Potter and that’s because I haven’t read that many books where main characters have pets and if they do you barely hear about them.
Where would you live?
I would either choose Doldastam which is from the Kanin Chronicles by Amanda Hocking or The Royal Court from Vampire Academy and I think it’s also in Bloodlines, I don’t 100% remember, by Richelle Mead.
Where would you do to school?
Or St. Vladimir’s Academy from Vampire Academy!
Who would be your best friend?
For this, I would either choose Andie from The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson or Ron Weasley!
So, I’m doing another tag!! This tag was created by Bookidote and all the spell images were taken from the original post. The only rule for this tag is that you can’t answer any of the questions with a Harry Potter book.
A book you found interesting, but you’d like to rewrite it.
This Is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang. I thought the idea of this book was interesting. However, how it was written made it extremely confusing and I ended up really not liking it. So I would rewrite it if I could.
The First book in a series that got you hooked.
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I loved this book and as soon as I finished it I wanted to read the rest and I ended up reading The Vampire Academy series in order and then straight after that I read the Bloodlines series, also by Richelle Mead. I loved both series and are probably my favourites second to Harry Potter
A Book you wish you could have right now.
I can’t pinpoint just one book so there is a couple of books I wish I could have right now. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater, I have read the first book as a iBook, so I don’t actually own it, so I want it, plus I loved it and I want to read the rest of the series. I also wish I could have The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer and This Savage Song by Victora Schwab.
A Killer Book. Both Senses. Take it as you like.
I’m going with ‘killer book’ as in it was awesome and I loved it. And that book is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. This was such an interesting book to read (well actually, I listened to the audiobook, but you get my drift). It was also nothing like anything I have read before and I really enjoyed it.
A Book that you found really confusing.
Well, I have already used this book once as an answer, but I’m going to use it again. I chose This Is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang. This book was confusing as hell and that one of the reasons why I really didn’t like the book.
Your Spirit Animal Book.
This is really hard to answer without being able to use a Harry Potter book. So I will go with Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton.
A Dark Twisted Book.
I can’t actually think of a book that I have read that would fit this category.
A Book that surprised you in a great way, Reveals to be more than it is.
For this, I am choosing You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan. I didn’t really know what to expect from this book and it did surprise me. It is an amazing book and I loved it.
1. “Tale as old as Time”– A popular theme, troph or setting you will never get bored of reading
I love anything fantasy, so a setting that is different, that you can escape to, I will be ther!
2. Belle – A book you bought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside too
I’m going to choose Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. I didn’t actually end up buying this book as I was looking at it, then I recieved it in The YA Chronicles Subscription box. So lucky I didn’t buy it or I would have had 2 copies. However, online I did see this book and loved the cover and then read the synopsis and thought it sounding good too. I ended up loving this book! It is also alot more beautiful in person than on a website!
3. Beast – A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasently surprised you
For this, I am going to say The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. I didn’t expect to enjoy this as I don’t really like contemporary books. However, I really enjoyed this story. If you want to know my thoughts click > HERE < for my review
4. Gaston – A book that everyone loves that you don’t
I don’t really know if everyone loves this book, but there was alot of hype and it was made into a Tv series and everyone I talked to about it loved the show. Yet I didn’t like the series as I couldn’t even finish the first book. I’m talking about A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin I started reading Game of Thrones and I don’t know what it was about this book, but I did not enjoy it. I was forcing my self to read it rather than wanting to pick it up. In the end I only read about 3/4 of the book and put it back on my book case. I even bought the Audiobook for Game of Thrones but I listened to about half of the first chapter and I could not stand the guy who narrated it. So I gave up completely. I do own the first 4 seasons of the Tv show but I haven’t watched it yet. So hopefully I will enjoy it more than the book.
5. Lefou – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counterpart.
I really don’t know what to answer for this as I can’t think of any characters this applies to.
6. Mrs Potts, Chip, Lumier & Cogsworth – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuable
For this I am going to have to choose the Harry Potter series. There is so many good life lessons and things to learn in this series and I absolutely adore it.
“Dumbledore says people find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right.” –Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
7. “Something There” – A book or a series that you weren’t into at first, but picked up towards the end
I don’t really have a book that fits this. I have been going through my goodreads and looking at all the books I have read and I can’t think of one that fits. There probably is one, I just don’t remember.
8. “Be Our Guest” – A fictional Character you would love to have over for dinner
You expect me to choose just one person!? I’ll narrow it down to 5
>> Rose Hathaway from the Vampire Academy series and Bloodlines sereies by Richelle Mead
>> Ron Weasley (So we could have an eating contest) or any of the Harry Potter characters really!
>> Gansey (Richard Campbell Gansey) from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
>> Frodo, Pippin, Merry and Sam from Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
>> Amani from Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
Saw this over on Completely Booked blog and decided to do it as well!

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!
This review is my opinion and how I felt about the characters and how the plot was portrayed. If you don’t agree, don’t jump down my throat!
My expectations were low, to begin with for this book, as it is a screenplay I knew it wasn’t going to be the amazing, magical and engaging story that the original series was. I was disappointed, even with starting with a fairly low expectation!
Characters: First, I want to talk about the thing that annoyed me the most. The Characters of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I know that they are 20 years older, but there is no trace of who the character’s used to be!
Harry is no longer the kind, caring and loving person that he was in the original series. Some of the things that he says and does, especially when it comes to Albus, are not like him at all! The part that annoyed me the most is right at the start where the crossover is with the epilogue from The Deathly Hallows and the start of the Cursed Child. They have removed one of the most important lines in that scene! “-then Slytherin house will have gained an excellent student, won’t it? It doesn’t matter to us, Al…” I feel like this line just shows how much Harry loves Albus, whereas in the play, without this line, this scene is very bland and shows no emotion. I feel it shows, almost as if Harry is pushing Albus to tell the sorting hat that he wants to be in Gryffindor, just like Harry did in his first year.
In the play, Hermione is no longer the girl who thinks everything over 5 times in her head before doing things. For example, in the play, she hid the Time Turner in a bookcase with a few riddles guarding it. Albus and Scorpius quite easily and quickly get through the riddles, while also trying not to get sucked into a bookcase. If two young boys can figure it out, then I’m sure adults would have no trouble. If this was the Hermione from the original series, because she is so cautious and thinks everything through before acting, she would have hidden it a lot better! Also, why does she end up being Minister for Magic when this was a quote from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: “Are you planning to follow a career in Magical Law, Miss Granger?” asked Scrimgeour. “No, I’m not,” retorted Hermione. “I’m hoping to do some good in the world!” So many things just don’t add up with this play!
Next, Ron. Sorry, are you sure this is Ronald Weasley and not some imposter pretending to be him?! Nearly every scene he was in, I feel he was just added there to break away from the continuous darkness that was going on for the other characters. He was constantly trying to be funny, however, he wasn’t. This made me think that in the play they portrayed him as a try hard version of Fred and George rather than the goofy, funny, yet sensitive guy that we have known for 7 books! Another thing I want to ask is why is Ron running Weasley Wizard Wheezes and not George? This really confused me!
I did enjoy Draco’s character in the play. He wasn’t much like how he was in the original series but I think that’s a good thing. I felt like in the end of Deathly Hallows Draco was trying a bit harder to be good and kind. I also felt like there was always, kind of, a good side to Draco but he was always trying to impress his father and live up to the expectations that his Father had of him, which is why he did most of the things he did. I always liked to think that after they finished school Draco would find someone and get away from his father and show the good side of himself rather than the evil side. So, I’m glad that, that happened in the play. I also felt like in the play I could connect and feel for Draco more than I could in the original series. I always felt sorry for Draco and felt that if he had grown up with a different father he would have been a lot happier. In the play, we find out more about him and learn his story, especially when it comes to his late wife, Astoria.
I think that Albus is an extremely flat character. I believe this is because it is a play. A play is not meant to be read, so reading purely what the characters were saying doesn’t allow for character development and he did not come to life for me. This also meant that I couldn’t connect with him.
I really enjoyed Scorpius. He was the one new character that I felt like had a bit more development. He was cautious and kind and he cared about Albus. Even when it was against his better judgment he also went along with Albus.
Rose Granger-Weasley was a character we saw very little of. But when we did I didn’t like her and I didn’t feel like she was Hermione and Ron’s daughter. Even when Albus found that Scorpius was a good guy and was nothing like what all the rumors were saying she didn’t even try to get to know him, she just judged him the whole time, even after Draco and Harry become kinda friends. I feel like she was nothing like Ron or Hermione who I know would have still been cautious around Scorpius at the start, but would have trusted their friend’s judgment and gave him a chance. I also wish that we saw Hugo in the play at some point and more of James and Lily.
Plot: At the start I enjoyed the plot except where it skipped 2 or 3 years at once, that was a tad confusing and at first, I thought it must have been a dream Albus was having or something. The should have just left the original Epilogue how it was in the Deathly Hallows and started in their 3rd year (i think that’s where it skipped to).
When we first meet Scorpius we find out nearly straight away that there is a rumor that Scorpius is actually Voldemort’s child. when I read it, I literally laughed, for one thing, it is beyond ridiculous and secondly Voldemort was dead long before Scorpius was born, so how do people figure that out!? Next, the fact that Albus wanted to go back in time to save Cedric Diggory. First of all, this was beyond stupid and I honestly wanted to put the book down as soon as Albus and Scorpius escaped the train. When I was reading it I was thinking that this is something that a 10-year-old would say but obviously wouldn’t actually do it. Yet off they went and had a go and the whole time I was shaking my head. I also felt like this was them telling prisoner of Azkaban over again. In that book, Harry and Hermione went back and saved Sirius and Buckbeak and in this, they went back attempting to save Cedric. I just felt like they were repeating themselves. This has already been done before, not just in another author’s book but in the same damn series! This was a very poor part of the plot.
Also, Voldemort has a daughter?! You expect me to believe this crap?! Voldemort was barely human, let alone human enough to have the desire to have sex or to have a child? Especially with a death eater that in the original series he didn’t really like, she was just a very loyal slave, basically. So that was ridiculous, to begin with. Next, it said that Bellatrix had the child just before the battle of Hogwarts, so why didn’t we see Bellatrix pregnant when we only saw her a couple months before the battle of Hogwarts at Malfoy Manor and why wasn’t she with her child instead of at the Battle of Hogwarts. Also who was looking after the child between when Bellatrix and Voldemort were killed and when the child was old enough to go out on its own.
It also really annoyed me that they had to screw with the original story. There were small things, like the commentary made by Ludo Bagman at the Triwizard Tournament. The least they could have done was kept was was said the same as the original stories. There was also bigger things like the fact that Bellatrix was not pregnant at all in the Deathly Hallows!
At times I also felt like Albus and Scorpius were going to turn out more than just friends and it kept building within the play, but instead at the end, Scorpius asks out Rose, which she declined. I know there was a little bit at the beginning somewhere that felt like Scorpius has a crush on Rose, but then it gets overshadowed by what you think is building between Albus and Scorpius. I know I’m not the only person who sensed this relationship as I have heard and read a few reviews that have said the same thing, so it’s not just me.
Another thing that really annoyed me is Hermione in the alternate universe that was created when Albus and Scorpius messed with time. I didn’t add this in the character section as I know this isn’t the real Hermione, this is an alternate Hermione. Firstly, you can’t make me believe that Ron and Hermione didn’t end up together just because Ron never got jealous when Hermione went with Viktor to the Yule Ball. That romance has been brewing from the first book and one simple thing like Ron not being jealous would not have altered that opinion! Next, besides the fact that Ron was jealous, Ron also hated what he had to wear to the Yule Ball and was not the type to dance, so I don’t know what would have made him dance with Padma Patil in the alternate version? I can understand him dancing with Hermione in it as he so obviously has had a thing for her since the start, but not anyone else. That just doesn’t add up for me.
Also in that alternate universe why is Hermione so grumpy and why is she a teacher and not out doing whatever she wants?! Whether she was with Ron or not, she was a strong, powerful and intelligent woman and I do not believe for a second that just because Ron marries someone else that Hermione throws her life down the drain, she could have gone into any job she wanted. Purely because of how intelligent she is.
Overall I didn’t enjoy the book. It was probably an amazing play and I wished they could have released a recorded version of the play so the rest of us could see it. I feel like it was extremely unfair that it was limited to London. What about the rest of the world?! As a script alone it’s just nowhere near what you have come to expect from a J.K. Rowling work. That kills me to say, as I adore her written work and the worlds she creates.
This month I purchased a fair few books but I have only received 4 of them in the mail so far.
I have purchased 10 books this month, some real copies, some iBooks, and some Audiobooks.

Best Sequel You Have Read So Far in 2016:
The only series I have read this year, as I have been trying to read more stand-alone books, is it The Watersong Series. I did really enjoy it either way! So I chose Lullaby by Amanda Hocking

I couldn’t choose just one again. So I Chose This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab and The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead.
Most Anticipated Release For The Second Half Of The Year:
Even though I haven’t yet read Iluminae this is defiantly the most anticipated read for the second half of the year. Especially because I will be receiving this book earlier than it’s release date thanks to the exclusive Gemina box that The YA Chronicles has available for October.
This is Where The World Ends by Amy Zhang
I didn’t really know what to expected from this book as I received it in The YA Chronicles subscription Box and I hadn’t heard anything about it.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
As I don’t usually read Contemporary books, so I was extremely surprised that I really enjoyed this book!
Newest Fictional Crush:
Honestly, I still don’t know how to feel about him, but I chose Ash from The Iron King. Hopefully is actually a good guy, I need to read the rest of the series!

Saw this tag on @readatmidnight blog and thought I would join in! All the question images were made by her also!
Well, the first book I actually read was Tomorrow Where the War Began by John Marsden, which I loved, I read when I think year 9 or 10 for my English class. However the book, well actually series, that started my love for reading was the Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking. I received the first book, Switched, with a Dolly magazine. After I read it I had to get the rest of the series. Ever since then I have loved reading.
The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling! Do I need to say more!?
The Fault in our Stars by John Green.. I got so sick of hearing about this book especially around the time when the movie came out. So I have never bothered reading it. I have watched the movie, as a friend made me, watch it and I didn’t really enjoy it, so I now feel no need to read it.
I don’t really know what to chose for this as I really don’t have a problem with tropes and I don’t really think about them when I am reading.
I don’t have a series or book that I am avoiding because of its size. If I feel like reading a book I will. Also I don’t really own any overly huge books except the A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. I started reading this series but stopped, not because of size, because I was having to force myself to read it and I was not enjoying it AT ALL.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater defiantly kept me up. I just couldn’t put this book down. This was handy as I read this book for the ‘Read a book after midnight’ challenge for the BookTube-A-Thon 2016.
My all time OTPs are Dimitri/Rose (Vampire Academy), Adrian/Sydney (Bloodlines) and of course, Ron/Hermione (Harry Potter)
You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan
Uhmm, Harry Potter! The Cursed Child just around the corner and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them coming towards the end of the year!! So keen!
For me, a surprisingly Awesome book was The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. I generally don’t read Contemporary books so I was surprised that I really enjoyed this. I have started reading more Contemporary novels now and I have discovered that I actually enjoy them.
There is a few series’s I think of for this challenge
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater (I have already read the first book, The Raven Boys)
The Harry Potter series! I want to own every version of these books! Especially the Special Edition Paper Back Box set that creates the Hogwarts castle when in the box. However, I am too broke for that! I also want to own the Original (I have Philosopher’s Stone already) and Deluxe Editions of the illustrated copies.
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst.
I’m predictable I know!
Ah, duh! The Cursed Child!
I tag anyone who want’s to do it. Very fun and some challenging questions!
