I’m back for the next month’s ReadAThon guide! This month is exciting as I’m hosting my own ReadAThon! So yes I am featuring it first, shameless self-promo!! This is going to be a hectic couple month as there are a lot of ReadAThons I want to join coming up! There is just a lot of ReadAThons happening! I’m also posting this a little early as one of the more popular ones is crossing over from June into July but starting in late June and I want you to have prep time.
TBR Jar ReadAThon!
Yes, I am finally hosting a ReadAThon!! Here is all you need to know! I have a full announcement linked below but this is just your main overview!
The ReadAThon goes from midnight on the 2nd till 11:59 pm on the 8th of July.
So, this ReadAThon it is exactly as it sounds! You put the names of books in a Jar (or mug, or cup, or hat, whatever works) and pull one out, read & repeat until the ReadAThon ends. You also set your own goal. So make a goal with how many books you want to read in the week of the ReadAThon and aim for that number!
As for what books you put in the jar well that depends on you! You can put all the books on your TBR into the jar, you can put the books you are anticipating & really want to read in the jar, if you are doing another reading challenge for the month you can put the names of all of those books in the jar or you can do what I will be doing which is get 2 jars, one for physical/eBooks & one for audiobooks. I read a lot more audiobooks than physical and I don’t want to be limited waiting for an audiobook to come out of the jar. So I will have 2 separate & you can do that too if you are someone that reads audiobooks like I do.
Well, that is the main gist of how it goes. I go into some extra info in my announcement to cover any questions I may have got so feel free to check that out!
Giveaway!
There is a GIVEAWAY for this ReadAThon too! If you are participating then all you have to do is let people know on whichever platform you prefer (Instagram, Twitter, blog, Booktube, Litsy, etc.) that you are participating. Then go to my announcement post & in the comments either leave the link to your post or where I can find it (I know for Instagram & such it isn’t as easy to get a link as it is for other platforms, so just tell me where & your handle and I will check it out!) And that is how you enter! Make sure you use the Hashtag #TBRJarRAT & if it is on Twitter you can tag @TBRJarRAT too!
If you are unsure how to announce it, it could be as simple as posting a pic of your TBR jar and say you are getting ready of #TBRJarRAT or if you want a bit more then you can tell us all the books that are going in your TBR jar! Whatever works is fine, just make sure you link back to be entered!
TBR Jar ReadAthon Announcement Post

Tome Topple ReadAThon
This one is the reason I wanted to get this up a little early as I know how popular it is and it does cross over from June into July. This is a 2 week long ReadAThon and the main challenge is to read Tomes. If you don’t know a Tome is any book over 500 pages. This ReadAThon has optional Reading Challenges, Instagram Challenges & will have reading sprints happening on Twitter.
The ReadAThon goes from midnight on the 29th of June till 11:59 pm on the 12th of July.
Some rules are you can only read Tomes, so over 500 pages or very very close. If a book is 499 then go for it. The Creator has said that 475 is an absolute minimum but over 500 pages are prefered. Also, another rule is that short story collections DO NOT count as a Tome even if they have more than 500 pages. Graphic Novel bind ups DO count as it’s very hard to find Graphic novels over 500 pages, whereas bind ups are a collection of 2 or more volumes together in 1 book. Audiobooks do count as long as the physical copy of the said book is a Tome.
Reading Challenges:
1. Read more than 1 Tome
2. Read a Graphic Novel/Bind Up (Over 500 pages)
3. Read a Tome that is part of a series
4. Buddy Read a Tome (You can head to the Goodreads group linked below to find a buddy if you wish)
5. Rean an Adult novel

Summer Alphabethon – Month Long Special
This is an extra round of Alphabethon that will be a month long instead of the usual week. This is happening during the american Summer holidays, so they decided to make a special month long ReadAThon.
The ReadAThon will go for the entire month of July.
If you have heard of Alphabethon before you will know that each round they read a single letter of the Alphabet. BUTTT for this month long edition your challenge is to read the entire Alphabet! Okay, maybe not all 26 but challenge yourself as much as possible. The next challenge is that you have to read in Alphabetical order! So you can’t just pick and choose letters, you have to read A then B then C, etc.
Another rule is this time books will only count if the first letter in the title is the specific letter. Usually Author first & last name counts too but for this month long edition only book titles count.
High Summer ReadAThon
This is a month long ReadAThon that has no reading challenges besides just to challenge yourself and read more than usual. There is also a bonus Christmas in July mini ReadAThon happening (28th – 31st July) wherein you are challenged to read Christmas books.
The ReadAThon will go for the entire month of July.
However, this one you are encouraged to all start at the exact same time rather than midnight in your time zone. So it starts on Midnight on the 1st of July in Central US Time. So you will need to convert to your time so you know when to start & finish.

This is where they talk about all of the ReadAthons that are hosted throughout the year, not just the High Summer ReadAThon. They hold about 5 or 6 a year.
Around the World ReadAthon
This is a month long ReadAThon all about reading books from different countries. This ReadAthon works on a Bingo Board but the unique thing with this Bingo Board is you have to pick a starting point somewhere on the board and then make your way around using the adjacent squares (Horizontal does count). Also, all the books you read must be by authors from a country besides your own unless the bingo card says otherwise.
The ReadAThon will go for the entire month of July.

Road Trip ReadAThon
This is a month long ReadAThon based on taking a road trip and I actually love the idea of this one!
The ReadAThon will go for the entire month of July.
Basically what you do is choose a state/country. They are basing it on the US states but if you are outside of the US you could still choose to do the US OR you could do your own states/countries/territories/provinces (whatever word you use) OR you could choose another random continent and use their States & such. You could be in the UK but choose Australia and use our states & territories.
Anyway after you choose your state you read a book set in that state, then you move to the next state, however, it has to be a connected state. Like if you were on a Road Trip, you can’t just start in Queensland jump over Northern Territory and choose Western Australia instead. You have to travel from state to adjacent state. You just keep doing this until the end of July!
They have an example on the announcement post which I will link below.
