This review will probably be all over the place as I literally finished reading this 5 minutes ago……

Sweet Jesus I left this too long to read! This Mortal Coil was one of my favourite reads of 2018! I reviewed it HERE if you want to check it out! I absolutely loved it! It was chaotic, unpredictable & extremely gripping. I read book 2 not long after it’s release and it was also amazing! Book 3 I got my hands on just after release and then promptly left it sitting on my TBR for over a year and a half! I think partly because I knew I had to be fully ready to read this as the books are just insane but also I didn’t want it to come to an end. BUT! I finally did it and oh my god!

This book gripped me from the first page just like the others in the series did. There is something about Emily Suvada’s writing that just drags you in. I really hope she comes out with another book sometime soon because I will buy it straight away and probably devour it!

This book is FULL of twists and turns. You don’t know who to trust, who to root for & who to love or hate. It keeps you on your toes the whole time. It’s extremely unpredictable & I never knew what would be around the next corner.

This one had multi POV as well which was amazingly written. You get to see all the characters grow & overcome the struggles placed in front of them. All the characters are very well written & fleshed out. Even the ones that only pop up every now & then. They all serve a purpose & their individual personality comes through.

This series is heavy on coding/tech/DNA but as someone who knows little to nothing about those topics I never found myself confused or overwhelmed while reading. Suvada did an awesome job of giving the info in a way anyone can follow but also never making it feel like an info dump. So don’t freak out if you start reading the series and they start talking about coding! You’ll be fine.

4.5 stars

Overall I absolutely adore this series & am ready to sit down and reread it. just because I can. It’s an incredibly written series that will drag you in & make you question yourself everytime you start rooting for a character. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves dystopian. While this is YA I think this would also be something that would appeal to an adult audience as well. It’s deep and chaotic & absolutely worth the read!

Thanks for reading! Eliza
