Top Ten Tuesday 💫 New Releases with spooky covers 📚 Blogtober #27

Yes, I am jumping back on the Top Ten Tuesday band wagon but it may not be every week. I’m just planning on jumping in when I enjoy the prompt of the week. So these will be pretty random.

Top Ten Tuesday is a monthly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish but now lives at The Artsy Reader Girl and you can find all the info and upcoming prompts Here.

Prompt: Halloween Freebie

So these will not necessarily be halloweeny books. I’m Aussie & don’t really celebrate Halloween besides using it as an excuse to dress up once a year & go to the pub. It’s also not ‘Fall’ here. It’s currently Spring, so those Fall/Halloween vibes just aren’t there for me really. So instead of doing a list of Halloween related or Halloween feeling books I thought I would just show off 10 books that have recently released/upcoming releases that have spooky/creepy covers

1. The Desolations of Devil’s Acre by Ransom Riggs

This one isn’t set to releases until Feb 2021 but I had to include it as the cover released a couple hours ago & it’s definitely creepy!

2. Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power

Burn Our Bodies Down releases in July & this is Rory Power’s second book. I read Wilder Girls last year & I wasn’t impressed so hopefully this one is better!

3. Hemlock by Rue Volley

I have never heard of this book & know nothing about it but the cover definitely gives off eerie vibes! It is marketed as romance but I don’t think I’ll be adding it to my TBR. Released in August.

4. Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare

Clown in a Cornfield released in August & I read it last week & really enjoyed it. It’s a pretty simple slasher style horror & it made for a fun read.

5. Some King of Twisted Love by Rachel Sullivan

This is another one I had never heard of but I love the creepy vibes that the cover gives off. I’m actually planning on going as a siren for Halloween at the pub, so this is perfect.

6. Horrid by Katrina Leno

Horrid is not one that’s on my TBR but I have heard of it. I received a copy in a Subscription boxes earlier in the month and have already sold it as it just doesn’t sound up my alley. The cover is definitely creepy though.

7. The Reckless Afterlife of Harriet Stoker by Lauren James

The Reckless Afterlife of Harriet Stoker is another one that I hadn’t heard of before making this list but it actually sounds really intriguing, so I have added it to my TBR!

8. Even if We Break by Marieke Nijkamp

Even If We Break released in September I read it in September. It was really good & super creepy and the masks on this cover are also creepy!

9. This is Not a Ghost Story by Andrea Portes

Another one I’m adding to my TBR thanks to this list! This is Not a Ghost Story releases in November, so it should have been included in my November Anticipated Releases but I didn’t know it existed yesterday when I wrote that post.

10. Don’t Tell a Soul by Kirsten Miller

Yet another I hadn’t heard of before but at least I have heard of the author. I read & DNFd the book that Kirsten Miller releases with Jason Segel, Otherworld.
