Today I want to talk about some book to movie adaptations that I want to read. A lot of these have been out for a while but somehow I still haven’t watched them!
1. The Hate U Give
I loved The Hate U Give and have actually read is three times now but I am still yet to watch the movie! I’m sure it’s amazing and it’s definitely high on my priority.
2. Love, Simon
Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda was really good & I have been meaning to watch the movie for ages but just haven’t gotten there yet!
3. The Darkest Minds
The Darkest Minds is another I have read more than once but still haven’t watched the movie. I feel like this one kinda fell under the radar and wasn’t overly hyped. I hoping it will be awesome though!
4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is one that I am worried about. I know that they made some major changes regarding the abilities of two of the characters, so this has always kind of put me off. I am curious to give it ago though and hopefully it is still a fun movie even if it isn’t accurate to the book.
5. Escape From Mr Lemoncello’s Library
I only found out a couple weeks ago that there is a Show for Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library but I am so keen! This is such a fun book and I hope the movie will be just as fun. Also this is technically a TV show but there is only 1 episode and thats over an hour and it covers everything that happens in book 1. So I’m not sure why it just isn’t a movie π€·π»ββοΈ
6. The Book Thief
Another one I’m really not sure why I haven’t read yet. I read The Book Thief a few years ago and really enjoyed it but just haven’t watched the movie yet.
7. The 5th Wave
I haven’t actually read the book for this one but it is a book to movie adaptations so it counts! The 5th Wave was on my TBR but I just haven’t gotten to it yet but I have seen the trailer for the movie and it looks interesting so I’m curious!
8. Howl’s Moving Castle
This is another one I haven’t actually read the book of but I hear SO MUCH hype around the Howl’s Moving Castle movie so I want to give it a go!

Do you recommend any of these? Which one should I watch first?!

I’ve watched The Hate U Give since writing this post and while I did enjoy it I don’t think it compared to the book. I was really annoyed by a couple things in the movie too. So while it’s a great movie, as an adaptation I’m not a fan.

Love this! I didn’t know some of these had movies. I’ve only seen Peculiar Children and I never finished the book but I want to say the movie didn’t do the weirdness I’ve heard of the book enough justice!

I have honestly only heard one person talk about the Peculiar Children movie and that was my best mate as she saw it in Cinemas with her sister. She told me a few things and it sounded so different to the book that I was worried. So I’ve been iffy but I do want to watch it out of curiosity.

It was pretty good up until like maybe half way? Then it kinda got unbelievable.

π¬ I’m worried but will one day bite the bullet and just watch it out of curiosity.
