Okay, so some of you may remember me participating in round 1 back in November and guess what it is happening again! This ReadAThon was not on my May ReadAThon Guide as it was only announced 2 days ago. I am going to copy and paste the info section from my the round 1 TBR as it is all working the same, the only difference is the challenges. This ReadAThon is pretty complex and can be confusing, so I hope my explanation helps you!
This ReadAThon starts at midnight on the 20th of May & ends at 11:59 on the 27th of May.
You can watch Ali’s video HERE for a whole in depth desrciption of the ReadAThon along with an example TBR but I am going to try and explain it!
Firstly, the map!
*This was taken from the link in Ali’s video.*
Every number and letter on the map corresponds to a challenge in the graphic below!
Okay, so how this map works is first you pick a number between 1 & 5. Once you pick your starting point you follow the corresponding coloured line to the next challenge. Most of them have more than one option you can choose from. Then when you get to your first stop you then follow that number or letter’s corresponding coloured line to the next challenge until you get to the treasure chest. All of the tracks you take will have 4 challenges but if you finish those 4 in the week you are welcome to continue onto any of the other challenges you wish.
So, here is an example of how to navigate the map. I am going to start at 1, from there I will follow the dark purple line to 6, from there I will follow the orange line to A and then from A I will follow the dark blue line to 9 and then to the treasure! Hopefully, that makes sense.
The path I will be following is:
5 > 8 > A > 9
5: Calm before the storm – The first in a series
A Shot in the Dark by Lynne Truss
This is an Adult Mystery that I received an ARC of and need to read by the end of June. This one comes out 28th of June in Aus.
8: Yo Ho Ho! – Book that starts with ‘RRRRRR’
This is the second book in the Reign of Shadows duology. I listened to Reign of Shadows a while ago and really enjoyed it! Reign of Shadows is a dark Rapunzel retelling and it ended on a rather large cliffhanger so I’m keen to continue.
A: Marooned: Standalone
Endless Night by Agatha Christie
There is a heap of Agatha Christie books on Scribd, so I hunted through her standalones and came up with this one!
9: Blow down the man – A book by a woman author
The Theft and the Miracle by Rebecca Wade
This is one of the books I am reading for the Book to School challenge. It is also by a female author, so perfect!!
