I think this is the 4th time I was tagged for this award, but as it’s been forever I thought I would do it! Thank you to the lovely Trisha @ The Tea Reader who tagged me!

  • Thank blogger(s) who nominated you for the award and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominated 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.

Blog titles

1. What is your favourite bookish trope? (I borrowed this from Anna since I really liked the question.)

It really depends on how well the trope is done, but some I don’t mind if done well are villain redeems themselves, chosen one & protagonist sacrificing themselves.

2. What is your least favourite bookish trope?

Now here I have a list:
Love Triangles
Insta Love
Every MC finding their love interest (You know its more likely to meet someone and NOT fall in love!)
Absent/arsehole/dead/missing parents (Again, more likely to have parents that are present and not complete arseholes… Why can’t YA characters actually have awesome parents occasionally!)
Continuous use of quotes such as: “she felt her heart begin to race”, “The corner of his mouth quirked up” & “I let out a breath I didn’t realise I was holding”

3. If you had to have three YA book characters back you up in a fight, who would they be?

Amani from Rebel of the Sands
Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic
Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter

4. How many books are on your TBR?

I have 57 books on my physical TBR!

5. How many books have you read this year so far?

Screen Shot 2018-09-12 at 12.29.55 pm

6. What’s the story behind your blogs name?

Okay, so this is a little random. But ‘Dusk Angel’ was a randomly generated name from when I signed up for Runescape when I was in high school. I couldn’t think of a username at the time and didn’t want to use anything close to my real name as I did for everything else. So I just kept randomly generating usernames until Duskangel…. came up. I really liked it, so I kept using it for other things. Originally I used duskangel222 for personal things. Then when I created my blog I added ‘Reads’ at the end. I am also a photographer running under ‘Dusk Angel Photography’. I’m a beauty therapist and my salon is called ‘Dusk Angel Beauty’ and I will soon be creating candles which I am calling ‘Candles by Dusk Angel’

7. Give me three interesting facts about yourself?

I always need to be doing something! I run my own salon. I work as a seasonal Lifeguard. I run a photography hobby business, Dusk Angel Photography where I photograph cars & trucks. I run this blog and a Youtube, Instagram & Twitter that goes along with it. I run the Facebook Group The YA Book Nerds. I run an international Book exchange, The Book Nerds Book Exchange. I host 2 ReadAthons and planning a 3rd (TBR Jar ReadAThon & MateAThon). I run The Ultimate ReadAThon Guide. I’m starting a candle company, just waiting for supplies. There is probably something I’m missing.

I used to Parade & Judge cattle at regional shows in the area when I was in high school.

I own 3 cats, Hoppy (who only has 3 legs), Mmiee (pronounced M-E) & Possum (who is the devil covered in fluff) & a rescue dog, Roxy, that came from an abusive & neglectful home. She is blue heeler cross labrador and she is gorgeous!

8. What’s your favourite book that you’ve read so far in 2018?

Just 1?! Nope.
The Themis Files by Sylvain Neuvel, This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada, Graevale by Lynette Noni & Truly Devious by Maureen Johnston

9. What book has been on you TBR the longest?

Well, I have unhauled most of the really old ones. But maybe And I Darken by Kiersten White or A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess.

10. What is the number one thing that you’re grateful for?

I never know what to answer for this..

11. As a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?

I didn’t have an exact plan but I wanted to work with animals.

The Liebster Award #2

Copy of Review Banner (1)

So this is the second time I have bee nominated for the Liebster Award! You can find my first one HERE. This time I was tagged by Tracey @ Books & Other Pursuits! Make sure you go check out her gorgeous blog and thanks so much for the tag!

Review Titles (3)

  1. Answer the questions that were left for you
  2. Nominate your favourite new bloggers (or those with less than 500 followers)
  3. Write 11 questions for them to answer
  4. Follow all of the blogs linked (including mine)!

Review Titles (4)

1. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I don’t mind them. Yes, it is frustrating when the next book isn’t out yet and you just want to find out what happens next straight away but it’s not horrible. It makes me excited for the next book and keen to get my hands on it and that is really the point of a cliffhanger. The authors put them there so you are excited for the next book straight away!

2. Love Triangles, yes or no?

Hell no. I am not a romance reader in the first place but if I am told that a book contains a love triangle before reading it then I will not pick it up. I can’t stand love triangles at all!

3. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Uhmm, I think the last book I DNFd was Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. However, I nearly DNFd The School for Good and Evil very recently but the only reason I didn’t was because I was using it for a challenge for #TheReadingQuest and I didn’t own any other books that would fit the challenge.

4. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

I have a couple of these but the most recent one I can think of is Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh. This book was just not for me. I guess I could also say The School for Good and Evil as a lot of people have said they love it, but it was just too childish and pathetic for me and I couldn’t stand it. I don’t even think I would have enjoyed this if I read it while I was younger.

5. A book you can always reread?

Harry Potter! I have lost track of how many times I have reread this series. At all times I am usually part way through one of the Harry Potter audiobooks as I just chuck them on while doing random stuff when I won’t be able to get my full attention like would be needed for a new read.

6. Can you read while hearing music?

Hell no. I can’t stand music, tv or a heap of noise when I am reading. I need silence but I can drown out people talking while I’m reading if I have to (like if I was at an appointment waiting or something like that).

7. One POV or multiple POV’s?

I like both single & multi POV. Some single POV books can be a little dull or confusing and I do want another POV from another character to understand them better but that’s only occasionally.

8. Who is your favourite character in a book series?

This question is a little confusing but I am assuming that we just pick our favourite character overall? Which is an extremely hard question. So I’m going to say my second favourite character in my favourite series. My favourite series is Harry Potter and we all know my favourite character is Sirius.. So that’s why I’m going for my second favourite at the moment which is The Medoran Chronicles and my favourite character is Bear.

9. Who/What gave you your love for reading?

Well my Mum enjoys reading but doesn’t read a lot and never tried to get me to read. What really got me into reading was The Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking as it was the first series I ever read that wasn’t for school. But then I didn’t read a heap straight after that.. But I think after a fair gap in my reading it was the Divergent series by Veronica Roth that started it all over again.

10. Why did you start blogging?

Well, originally I wanted to start a BookTube channel. I even filmed a couple videos but I just wasn’t happy with it and gave up for a while. Then I  discovered the book blogging community and felt like this would fill in my want to connect and share my opinions but with out the videoing part. And I have fallen in love with this community. I still one day would like to start BookTubing but at the moment I am content to be just here and if I did start BookTube I still wouldn’t give up this platform.

11. What has been your biggest blogging achievement?

I honestly don’t know. It has all be kinda surreal. Making my first friend on here was awesome! The first time an author or publisher contacted me to review their book. When I started a bookstagram and found a whole other bookish community & the same with Twiter! When I signed up and got my first request accepted on NetGalley. When I won my first bookish giveaway on Twitter. When I got my first physical ARC. It’s just all so amazing!

Sunshine Blogger Award #3 – Also I want your opinions!

Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 1.00.31 pm

So yes, this is my 3rd time doing this award! But I love nominating new people who I have recently discovered who I think deserve this!

I need your opinion!

Okay, so this bit has nothing to do with the award. My bad.

So I have been participating in Friday 5@5 for a couple weeks now and really enjoy it. But lately the creator has been getting a little slack and not posting. As she usually posts the next weeks prompt in her weekly Friday 5@5, but hasn’t posted it, I have no prompt to go by. So it’s starting to irritate me a little bit, so I’m going to stop doing that weekly meme.

Here is where I need your opinion, I have been thinking about starting to do discussions posts. I haven’t really done any before on this blog. So I don’t know if people will interact with them or not. The discussion topics will mostly be book related and I will post them on Fridays seen as I no longer have a meme going on on that day. So I just want to know what you think about that? Would you like to read discussion posts by me and interact with them? Just let me know in the comments!! 😊

Onto the award!

I was nominated by Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews for this award! Click HERE to see her post! Thank you heaps for the nomination!

This award has a different logo than the first one I did, so I don’t know if the logo below on the left was created by someone that did the award and people have just kept it going from there or not, but I am just going to leave the old logo in my sidebar.

The Image on the right belongs to me!

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Mandy’s Questions

1. If you had to sort your own personal library, how would you do it – color, author, another way?

Well I currently sort my shelves into a couple different ways, my Read and TBR are separate. My TBR is sorted by colour and my Read are separated into genre. I don’t actually own a TONNE of books, so it’s easy to do that. If I had more books I would like to sort them all by colour, but still keep my TBR separate. I like keeping my TBR in one place, so I can see what I need to read. My read books I would still kind of keep the genres different. Like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, dystopian, retellings, etc would be in one place and Contemporary, Historical Fiction, etc in another. I don’t know why but I like keeping them seperate!

2. How important is a cover on a book for you?

It is fairly important. It’s the first thing you see and that is what is going to catch my eye in a book shop or on BD or Goodreads. It’s the first thing I see, I never buy a book strictly on book cover. But if there is a beautiful book cover that stands out to me, I’m going to have a look at that book synopsis and see if it is actually something I will like more than I’m going to pick up the book with the ugly or cheap looking cover and sus it out. That’s just how it works.

3.What made you choose blogging – not Youtube or etc. but blogging?

Well the main reason is just expressing my views on books. I don’t have anyone in my life that is as bookish as me, so I don’t really have anyone to talk to about books. I can talk to my mum, who listens but half the time has no idea what I’m talking about. Steph and Rena I can kind of talk to as they have read some of the more well known books series over the years. Ryan listens to me and asks questions but doesn’t actually read books himself. So this was my outlet for all my views and opinions on books.

4. What Princess (or Disney character) can you relate the most with? IF you don’t watch much Disney, what fictional character period can you?

Honestly I have never thought I’ve related to any of the Disney Princess or characters really. When I read I have never thought ‘hey that person is relatable to me’.  I don’t know why but that’s just not how I think when reading. There is the odd character who has a similar personality to me, like Rose Hathaway (towards the end of the series) who is fiery, but also calculated and will do anything to help the people she loves. I feel like that’s similar to who I am. But I still don’t see her as ‘relatable’ that’s just not how I think. So I quite simply don’t actually have an answer to this question.

5. If you could only have one song as mood music to reading, what you choose?

None, I CANNOT STAND noise when reading. It drives me insane and distracts me so much. That is my I mostly read in my room which is nearly sound proof and the only thing I can occasionally hear is Duke, the Rottie next door barking if someone comes too close to his house.

6. If you had to have your favorite meal – sans arugula of course – what would it be?

Home made Spaghetti and meatballs, made only by my mum or myself.

7. Do you have a favorite time of year? If so, when is it and why?

Any time that is cold. Which isn’t often and is getting less and less each year. Which is absolute shit. I live in outback Australia and it’s hot majority of the time. Which I can stand and it doesn’t really worry me because I’ve grown up with it and am used to it. But the main thing I love is the cold and being able to wear Hoodies, Jeans, Trackies!  I could wear Jeans 24/7 in the cold, even to bed, which I have done many times! That is bliss to me.

8. What was your last binge watch/read?

I honestly don’t really binge on anything. If I am the only one home I either have OITNB (rewatching) playing on Netflix on my TV or the Harry Potter Audiobooks playing. But that is just for background noise mainly as I’m always doing 52 other things.

9. What was your favorite story (folktale or fairytale maybe?) as a kid?

I didn’t read as a kid and I wasn’t into fairy tales or anything much. I was more into movies, so my favourite movie to watch was Spirit.

10. Do you discuss books with anyone in real life?

Answered that in the 3rd question.

11. If you could meet your favorite author, who would it be and what one question would you ask them?

Well my favourite author is J.K. Rowling and I would love to meet her! I mean, who wouldn’t! And I have no idea what I would ask her. I have millions of questions that I could ask, however I would ask

Does Mad-Eye Moody see the real form of a boggart with his magical eye and what is the boggarts real form?

I nominate:

I will try to not nominate the same people I did on my last two of these posts!

TeacherofYA / Lauren’s Page Turners / Geybie’s Book Blog / Cozy Room Readings / Olga’s Oddish Obsession / Kdrewkthebookworm / Whimsy Pages / Big City Book Worm / The Book Raven / Sue’s Reading Corner / Reading With Rendz

My Questions:

1. What fictional character would you choose to spend the day with in their world?

2. Pick one book that you would choose to completely forget? Whether it be to read it again for the first time or because you disliked it.

3. What food would you like to try from a fictional world? e.g. Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans

4. What colour book spines do you have the most of?

5. What is your favourite book cover out of the books you own? Make sure you say which edition it is or add a photo as most books have multiple covers

6. What’s one item/device you wish you could own from any fictional world?

7. Pretty sure I’ve used this question before, but what power/ability do you wish you could have?

8. What is your favourite genre to read, even if you don’t read it the most?

9. Do you listen to audiobooks? Or want to?

10. Where is your favourite place to read?

11. Are your book shelves full or have you still got room for more?

Well that is all for this award! Do not feel like you have to do this award if you were nominated, but if you do I hope you enjoy answering them!

The Versatile Blogger Award

Screen Shot 2017-03-18 at 11.48.03 pm

And I just got tagged for another award! Seen as I’m sitting here bored I thought I would do it straight away! If I had got tagged in this one earlier today I would have added it to my Unique Blogger Award post, but I was tagged in this one after I posted the other!

Thanks to Romana @ A Book Nerd for nominating me in this award!

The image on the left is from the original creator I’m guessing and the one on the right, as always, is the one that will be displayed on my blog so they all match! I hate it when things don’t match, drives me wild!

The Rules:

1) Display the award on your blog.

2) Thank the blogger that nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

3) Share 7 facts about yourself.

4) Nominate 10 bloggers for the award and provide links to their blog.

Facts about me:

1. I received my Diploma of Beauty Therapy in the mail a couple days ago!

2. I have never had a dog as my mum doesn’t like them, but I really want to buy a Husky or German Shepard as soon as I can afford one.

3. I am trying to eat better and have been making smoothies every morning for the past month. Pretty proud I have kept it going this long!

4. I’m currently watching on TV 2 Fast 2 Furious which is one of my favourite Movie series. That’s my love for cars coming out!

5. I love playing Runescape but I stopped playing it for a couple years as I got bored after I broke up with my ex which is who I used to play it with, but I have recently logged back in!

6. My Pottermore patronus is a Mastiff, which I hate. I think that text on Pottermore was the weirdest and considering I think Mastiffs are ugly and would never even think of having one, let alone it being my patronus.

7.  Can you tell I’m running out of ideas?? My wand according to Pottermore is Alder wood with dragon heartstring, 13″ Surprisingly Swishy Flexibility

I Nominate

I will be nominating my latest 10 followers as I have already tagged 8 people in the other award I did today and I don’t want to be annoying!

Meg & Leah @ Twin Reads / Books Are All You Need / Quirky and Peculiar / Read and Survive / Maya Hearts Books / Olivia Chanel / The Crazy Reader / KitKatdallibooks / Reading With Rendz

And that is all for today! Pretty sure I said that at the end of my last post too, but this time It will be true! Going to put on the audiobook of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and play Runescape for a little while then head to bed and read!

The Unique Blogger Award

Screen Shot 2017-03-18 at 3.44.05 pm

I was tagged in another award! YAY! I was tagged by Rendz @ ReadingWithRendz for this award! Thanks heaps! So here is goes!

The Image on the left is from the creator I’m assuming, the one on the right is my own and will be used on my sidebar so they all match.

Rules

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them three questions.

Rendz Questions & My Answers

1. What was the last book you bought? Have you read it yet?

Well the last book I received by Frogkisser! by Garth Nix, which I got in subscription box. But I didn’t specifically buy that book. The last book I actually purchased was The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid and I haven’t read it yet. I planned to, but since getting it in the mail I was accepted for 2 eGalleys, so I’ve been worrying about them atm.

the_diabolic-3

2. Do you wait until the entire series is out to read it or do you just read them as they come?

Sometimes I do and someones I don’t. If I know that the last book in the series is coming out in a couple months then I might wait, but if I want to read the book and there is still a couple books planned to come out in the next couple years then I will probably just read it anyway.

3. Do you own a well-loved book? (One with a lot of damage to it?)

The only books I have that have a fair bit of damage are my HP series, but they were second hand when I bought them. There is the odd bit of damage to some other books, like my copy of Rebel of the Sands has the corner of the back cover folded over as it folded when I put it between two other books in my book shelf and didn’t realise. However I am really careful will books usually and I don’t like getting them damaged, so only my HP series is majorly damaged and it kind of kills me. I really want to purchase a new set, but I’m not a fan of the covers that are out right now, but I do want to get those ones where the spines make the Hogwarts castle!! But I can’t afford them right now. 😫

kkl10ts

I Nominate:

Teacher of YA / Midnight Biblio Blog / Book Princess Reviews / Bookslayer Reads / Sue’s Reading Corner / Whimsy Pages / Of Reading and Random Things / Little Book Fool

My Questions

1. What is your least favourite Book to Movie adaptation?

2. Do you read one book at a time or more?

3. Would you ever try and write a book? If so, what genre do you think you would try?

And that is all, if you are tagged and have already done it or don’t want to, you don’t have to! Have fun for those that do!

* Image on the left belongs, I’m assuming, to whoever created the award & the image on the right is the image I created, I only create my own to appear on my side bar!*

“THIS AWARD IS FOR BLOGGERS WHO STRIVE TO WRITE FOR EVERYBODY, AND NO MATTER HOW MANY VIEWERS THEY GET, MAKE AN IMPACT ON A READER. THIS AWARD IS AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE TO THE NOMINEE. IT SHOULD BE AWARDED TO ANYBODY THAT YOU CHOOSE DESERVES IT, AND IT DOESN’T MEAN THAT THEY MUST HAVE HUNDREDS OF FOLLOWERS AND LIKES.”

Rules

– Anybody nominated can nominate eight other bloggers.
– The nominee answers three questions posed by the nominator.
– The questions you ask while nominating can be any three questions.
– If any of the questions asked are offensive or the nominee simply does not want to answer, the nominee does not have to answer them to earn the award.

Olga’s Questions & Answers

1. What book character can you closely relate yourself to? (Personality or life wise)

Rose Hathaway, she is described as Protective, Sarcastic and a bit reckless. She was a tad more reckless at the start of the series, towards the end she became a little be more responsible

2. Have you been to meet and greets? If yes, then describe the feeling you got when you saw a favored author and what book you asked him/her to sign? If no, then tell who’d you like to meet someday and why?

I haven’t been to any meet and greets. I live in a small country town, so to go to meet & greets I would have to travel 3 to 5 hours. I would love to meet J.K. Rowling of course!

3. If you could create your own universe, how would you describe it and what rules or laws would there be?

I can honestly say this is something I have never thought about. All I know is that there will be alot of different creatures, including dragons! Definitely magic but that is all I can think of!

My Questions

1. If you could live in one fictional world for only 1 year, which would you chose?

2. What a book genre you have never read that you would like to give a try?

3. Do you prefer to read physical books, eBooks or listen to Audiobooks?

The Liebster Award

Thank you sooo much for Olga @ Olga’s Oddish Obsession for tagging me in this award! Go and check out her blog, it’s beautiful! I love the colours of her blog the most, they are sooo mice!! This is my third award to go on my blog! So here goes another one!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger gave to you.
  • Nominate at least 5, but no more than 11 bloggers who you think deserve the award.
  • Tell those bloggers you nominated them!
  • Create 11 original questions for the next nominees to answer.

Olga’s Questions:

1. Why do you read if you could be doing anything else?

I love being able to escape to another world and leave all my stress and worry behind.. I only really read late at night lately, so the only thing that reading is taking me away from lately is sleeping. 😂

2. Do you consider yourself a pessimist or you always the friend to lift up another’s spirits?

I think I’m the friend that lifts others up.. I’m definitely not a pessimist though.

3. Who is your favorite protagonist and antagonist of all worldly time? (doesn’t have to be from a book)

Favourite Protagonist would have to be Hermione! And Antagonist would have to be Bellatrix! Yes of course they are both from Harry Potter!! Did you expect anything different from me?!?!

4. Do you like being called a nerd or can that seem insulting in a way to you?

I couldn’t care less about being called a nerd! Doesn’t worry me what people call me haha.

5. Have you begun to complete a few of your goals for the new year?

Well my main goal at the moment is finishing my Diploma! And I’m getting there with that.. Still have 3 theory assessments to get done and hand in and also still have 4 Practical assessments, I have 3 of them already booked in to do, just got 1 more to book in!

With reading goals, I have started my Beat the Backlist challenge.. I haven’t even purchased a 2017 release yet, so I have only read books published last year or earlier.

My other goal is to lose weight, which I have only just started properly.. I have been eating pretty well and exercising at night, which I won’t be doing tonight as I just finished an 8 1/2 hour shift at work on my feet and did nearly 15 thousand steps today, so I’m pretty happy with that.. Will keep going tomorrow night though. I am also thinking about buying a treadmill, but I’m thinking about getting a Cardiotech one, which if you’re Aussie you would have seen those stupid ads before on TV, anyway, they are only $10/week, so I can afford that easily and the treadmill has speakers that connect to your phone and a built in fan!

6. Are you a sweatpants and large shirt person or do you plan out your tumblr outfit to feel comfortable?

Sweatpants and large shirt at home! Whereas out of the house I always either wear Jeans or denim shorts which are comfy to me. And always a big shirt and hoodie in winter!!

7. Do you have a sweet tooth or bathe in the joy of knowing your gonna live longer?

Not 100% sure what the end of this question means, but I kinda have a sweet tooth, I love ice cream and lollies.. Not chocolate that much though, well I like it, but I just don’t eat it that much.

8. Are you a fan of ordering online or do you prefer going to the store?

Both, but as I live in a small country time online shopping is my only option really unless we go away for some reason.

9. Have you ever had the chance to meet an author of your favorite book?

I have never met an author! Again, I live in a small town and I can’t afford to travel to events in Brisbane or anything as its 5 hours from here to Brissy..

10. How long have you been reviewing and is it what you expected?

I have been reviewing since July i think and I didn’t really know what to expect, so it can’t not be what I expected.

11. Lastly, what other interests do you have besides reading and/or writing?

I love photography, my Grandfather was an AMAZING photographer and my mum and bother her siblings like it too and 2 of my cousins are really good at it too! I love taking photos and I recently bought a Canon EOS 750D and I am loving it. I need to get a different lense though as this one doesn’t have much of a zoom range and it kinda annoys me, but I can’t afford a new lense at the moment.. So it will have to do for now.

Sunshine Blogger Award #2

screen-shot-2016-10-24-at-6-06-35-pm

So I was nominated again for the Sunshine Blogger award! Thank you so much Kayla @Kdrewkthebookworm for the nomination! If you haven’t checked her out yet then you should head over to her blog!

Here is the link to my first The Sunshine Blogger Award post.

screen-shot-2016-10-24-at-6-12-10-pm
This is the button I made, but feel free to use it, but please link back to me! Thanks.

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.

Questions from Kayla

1.If your region is currently in spring, what are you doing this summer? Or if not, what did you do this past summer?
This summer I have no idea what I am doing! All I know is that I will be going to my Uncles and Cousins for the first time in probably 8 years for Christmas,  don’t know exactly how that is going to go as there is a lot of family drama there. But hopefully it will be good!

2. How many physical books do you own?
Gimmie a second!
I’m back
94

3. Under what circumstances would you DNF a book?
If it was way to confusing and I had no idea what was actually happening.. Or if it’s just really boring and I’m not enjoying myself. I have only not finished 1 book and that was Game of Thrones, I was confused and it was hard to understand and I just felt straight up bored reading it and also a little disgusted with it..

4. What was the last movie you saw in theatres? Did you enjoy it?
I have not been to a cinema in so long! But I think the last movie I saw was Find Dory and yes I enjoyed it.

5. What are your favourite and least favourite things about blogging?
Favourite thing would be the community, chatting with people who have similar opinions to or even discussing with someone about why we have different opinions on a book. My least favourite thing is literally nothing. I am still only new, but I haven’t found anything I don’t enjoy about blogging

6. Tell me a teaser sentence from the book you’re currently reading!

“Because from the day I met her I’d known I wanted to be part of any world she belonged to. Did that make me crazy? Or was my heart too easily conquered?”

7. What device do you use to write your blog posts (computer, phone, etc.)?

Always computer

8.Tell me a little known fact about you that no other bloggers know.

I have always wanted a Husky, but my mother hated dogs and while I’m living with dad he won’t get a dog unless it’s a Chihuahua that he can take in his truck with him.

9. If you could travel anywhere in the world right this instant, where would you go, and why?

I would go to either the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort or to Warner Bros. Studios in London to take the The Making of Harry Potter Tour.

10. What song is stuck in your head right now? (if any)

Honestly, nothing. The last thing I was listening to was an Audiobook. So maybe that’s why.

11. I personally love the idea of giving a shoutout to 5 bloggers, so go ahead and spread the love like confetti!😊

I will do a shoutout to my 5 latest followers

Blogger Recognition Award

screen-shot-2016-10-23-at-11-34-13-am

I was nominated by Lia @ Lost in a Story for the Blogger Recognition Award! If you haven’t checked out her blog already then you should now! Thank you Lia for nominating me!!

I couldn’t find an actual button for the Blogger Recognition Award, it just looks like someone has made one and then a couple people continue it on until someone else makes another one.. So I’m making my own haha.

Feel free to use it just please link back to me! Thank you

screen-shot-2016-10-23-at-12-13-29-pm

Rules

  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.

How I started

Well, I actually started for basically the same reason as Lia! I have been watching BookTube for ages now and I have always had the idea in the back of my head that I wanted to do this, but whenever I tried I just hated the recording part as I just don’t like being in front of a camera (unless it’s a selfie haha). I discovered the Book Blogging world and knew that this is was my answer and what I wanted to do!

I also hate sitting around doing nothing and living in a small town like I do there isn’t much to do and while blogging I fee like I’m actually accomplishing something!

Advice for new bloggers

Well, I’m fairly new myself as I have only been blogging for a couple months and only have about 50 followers.

My biggest advice is, don’t be scared to comment on other peoples posts! I have never struck a rude book blogger yet so don’t be scared to start a conversation or share your opinion on other people’s post. Most people will reply and it also gets you out there more and it will help your follower number haha. You will find that if you comment on someone’s post some people will go to your blog and comment on your posts! I know this is what I always try to do!

Always be honest! Even if you feel bad for absolutely disliking a book! Be honest and you will find that there is probably someone out there that agrees with you and you might just make an awesome friend with someone who has the same views as you on books! Also if you receive a book for review, whether it is an ARC or a book that has already been released, don’t feel like because you received the book for free that you can’t be honest if you don’t like the book.

I hope this advice will help someone! Because I know it helped me when I was still learning (well I still am learning haha).

I Tag

I tried to check if people have already done the award before tagging, but not everyone has search bar options on their blog! So sorry if I tagged you and you already have done it.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

screen-shot-2016-10-06-at-10-02-03-pm

I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by the lovely Paige from Paige’s Pages. Please go check out her beautiful blog!

screen-shot-2016-10-24-at-6-12-10-pm

This is my button, but feel free to use it, but please link back to me.

Rules for the Sunshine Blogger Award:

1. Answer 11 questions from your nominator
2. Nominate 11 other blogs and ask them 11 questions

11 Questions that Paige wrote:

1. What fortress from a fantasy book would you most want to be inside if you were under attack?

I can’t really think of any fortresses that I have read about that actually held up under attack. The only thing I can think of is District 13 from The Hunger Games but it wasn’t exactly the best either.

2. If you could pick any artist – living or dead – to design all of your blog graphics, who would it be and why?

Jim Kay, his work in the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone illustrated edition was absolutely gorgeous!

3. What is one trait that you envy most in other people and why?

The only thing is I wish I was a bit shorter as with my job being my height is not great on your shoulders… But besides that, I really don’t envy anything. There is are couple things that I am like ‘that would be cool’ but it’s not something that actually worries me…

4. What three book characters would you want in your dream high school posse?

Adrian Ivashkov from Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead
Rose Hathaway also from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mean
Ron Weasley from Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

5. If your house were on fire and you only had time to save one book, what would it be and why is it so special to you?

Can I choose a series?? Please! I would defiantly grab my copy of the Harry Potter series as it is my favourite series ever and also because all the other books are nearly new and you can still buy whereas my Harry Potter series is the older design and I prefer them more than all of the new editions I have seen. This series is special to me as I grew up reading and watching this series and I absolutely love everything about these books and the world within them.

6. What fellow book blogger inspires you the most and why?  (Tag them to send them some love!)

I’m only new, so I don’t actually know that many blogs or bloggers well enough for any to inspire me.

7. What is one small thing you can do today to surprise someone with kindness?

I don’t really know how to answer this question… Except weekends when I go out I don’t really have much interaction with people except for at work in which I am literally paid to be nice to people. So I don’t really know what to say for this question.

8. Can you name one story that you believe can be enjoyed universally?

Where there really isn’t any books that everyone would enjoy as we all have different tastes and that’s perfectly okay!

9. Can you think of three songs that would make the perfect soundtrack to your favourite book?

My favourite book series is the Harry Potter series with my favourite book being Order of the Pheonix but I really have no idea what songs would match it!

10. If you were an inter-dimensional tourist, what fictional place would you most like to visit for a holiday?

I would defiantly go on holidays to either Forening from the Trylle Trilogy or to Hogwarts Castle if that was possible haha! It’s not exactly a place open to visitors to holiday haha

11. Can you describe your fondest childhood reading experience?

Before reading Harry Potter the only books that I had read were this series of books that were about dogs and I don’t really remember them… So I don’t really have one.
