So I was on a reread & Mystery kick this month!
As I said this was a month for rereading! I have finally started rereading Harry Potter physically again! I’ve reread a tonne of times on audiobook, but not on physical for at least a year. So, of course, I’ve been loving the reread!
I also read Jackaby which I LOVED. It was such an amazing book! You can find my review HERE!
And lastly for physically read books is Children of Blood and Bone which I read because it was one of the BOTMs for The YA Book Nerds. I haven’t reviewed this one and don’t know if I will but my basic thoughts are I enjoyed it for the most part but a couple things mean I only rated it 4 stars. The main thing I did not like was the romances. I felt they were unnecessary and took away from the plot and the whole women’s empowerment & family themes.
Another 2 rereads! If you didn’t know I am slowly making my way through all the LOTRs world books on audio and last month I read The Two Towers.
I also reread Mask of Shadows. I originally read it on audiobook and as the sequel recently came out I planned on rereading it physically and I did start that but the physical book was just taking forever to actually read. I use the app Bookly so I can track my reading and I know my average reading speed and it was literally double for this book and it was making me not want to actually pick it up because I felt like I was getting nowhere. So instead I listened to the audiobook and flipped along with the book which helped a lot. I still really enjoy this book, it was just something about it that took forever and put me off.
Then as I said above I was on a mystery kick, mainly Hercule Poirot mysteries! I love Poirot and listened to these 3 in about 4 days. I would have listened to more but the delightful Scribd will remove all your saved books and put them in ‘Available Soon’ if they think you are listening to too many audiobooks. I do have a possible hack for this that I will be testing out once they all become available. So I will keep you updated as to whether that actually works in November.
How did you like Children of Blood and Bone? I read it earlier this year and I really enjoyed it.

As I said on my post I rated it 4 stars. It was fine but I didn’t like the romance at all. It took away from the plot and whole theme of female empowerment and family themes.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the romance with the main character, the one with the side characters I didn’t mind as much, especially because it’s development was slower.
