Goodreads Synopsis:

A boy with extraordinary powers. An army of deadly monsters. An epic battle for the future of peculiardom.

The adventure that began with Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and continued in Hollow City comes to a thrilling conclusion with Library of Souls. As the story opens, sixteen-year-old Jacob discovers a powerful new ability, and soon he’s diving through history to rescue his peculiar companions from a heavily guarded fortress. Accompanying Jacob on his journey are Emma Bloom, a girl with fire at her fingertips, and Addison MacHenry, a dog with a nose for sniffing out lost children.

They’ll travel from modern-day London to the labyrinthine alleys of Devil’s Acre, the most wretched slum in all of Victorian England. It’s a place where the fate of peculiar children everywhere will be decided once and for all. Like its predecessors, Library of Souls blends thrilling fantasy with never-before-published vintage photography to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

Seriously! This entire series was just amazing! I am so sad it has ended.. However, I still have the Tales of the Peculiar, which I will be starting sometime today.. So at least it’s not completely over and I feel like the Tales of the Peculiar will be something you can go back and just read one of the stories if you needed a break from what you are currently reading or if you just miss the Peculiar world, I hope I’m right!

Anyway, that was enough yabbering, onto Library of Souls.

I am mainly repeating myself here I feel as Ransom Riggs’s writing hasn’t faltered from the amazing way he wrote in books 1 and 2! Again, I love the use of the images and I have to force stop myself not from sneaking a peak of the next image when I see there is one coming up! They are so interesting and I’m also so curious to know the real story behind these photos, but that’s something we will never know.

The twists and turns in this book are even more extreme than in Hollow City! You think you know what’s about to happen and chances are you are beyond wrong! I love it, I cannot stand predictable books or books that at the start I’m like “I bet this is going to happen”.. Nope, can’t stand it! This series was the complete opposite!

So, we meet some new and exciting characters in this book, including Sharon, Bentham and a tonne more!  I loved them all, even the ‘bad guys’. The way they are written is superb and you feel the same hate for them that the other characters feel and that’s when you know the character was done right! Of course, there was still even more amazing development with the Characters that we meet in the previous books!

This series has become one of my favourites. I have seen some reviews on Goodreads saying that this book wouldn’t be much without the images and I just want to say that I disagree! The story itself is amazing and adventurous and everything I want in a fantasy series and I think that the images just add to the magic of it!

I highly, highly recommend!! And don’t worry it’s not as scary as it’s made out to be!

Okay, it may be a little creepy at times, but you’ll be fine!

P.S. I know this is short but that’s because when I wrote more I was basically repeating what I said in the Hollow City Review (linked above)!

  1. I’m glad you liked the last book as much as you liked the others! My only complaint was that a lot of my favorite characters played a much smaller role in this book and we really didn’t see much of them until the end. It was still a great ending to the series though. Which book is your favorite? PS I noticed you’ve put hollow city as the title in the banner! Oops 😉

    1. Thanks so much for noticing that!! I kept accident writing Hollow City instead of Library of Souls when I was writing this..
      will go fix that now!

And I agree that I wish we saw more of the other characters, but I did still enjoy the way it was done! At least there was new characters around that we learnt more about when the other Children weren’t around!
And I honestly couldn’t say which is my favourite.. I think of them all as one..especially Hollow City and Library of Souls as I read them back to back!
      Which was your favourite?! 😆😆

      1. You’re welcome! I’ve often made the same mistake. My favorite was hollow city for sure. I think because in that one they were traveling so much and I loved all the adventures of discovering new places 🙂
