Goodreads Monday – A Darker Shade of Magic

Screen Shot 2017-03-27 at 8.40.09 pm

This meme was created by Lauren @ Lauren’s Page Turners and I think it’s such an awesome idea to share books on your TBR and introduce people to new books! All you have to do is to pick a book on your TBR and show it off!

If you have read this book please tell me your thoughts, with NO SPOILERS please!!!

I want to read more well known books for a while that I just haven’t been able to get around to yet! So I’m probably going to be showing off some of those books for a while! It will also hopefully get me keen to get to them sooner!

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

darker

My Comments:

So there is a tonne of hype around basically all of V.E Schwab/Victoria Schwab’s books! I’m keen to get to this book soon! The parallel Universes really interest me and especially that the book is based in London, well different versions of london, which I love reading about!

The Book:

Publication Date:  November 1st, 2014
Publisher: Titan Books
Genre: YA Fantasy
Pages: 384

Goodreads Synopsis:

Kell is one of the last travelers–magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes connected by one magical city.

There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, and with one mad King–George III. Red London, where life and magic are revered–and where Kell was raised alongside Rhy Maresh, the roguish heir to a flourishing empire. White London–a place where people fight to control magic and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London. But no one speaks of that now.

Officially, Kell is the Red traveler, ambassador of the Maresh empire, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.

Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She robs him, saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

And that is all! I love everything about the new theme I have on this blog, except that the Quotes are in a really big font, I don’t get why! So I won’t be putting goodreads synopsis in quote form anymore, just using a different colour font instead, that way it still stands out!

Lifeblood (Everlife #2) by Gena Showalter – Spoiler Free Review

Gena Showalter
Series Name: Everlife
Genre: Fantasy YA
Publication Date: February 28th, 2017
Pages: 416 (Hardcover)
Publishers: Harlequin Teen
Rating:

4 and a half Star

Goodreads Synopsis:

My Firstlife is over, but my Everlife is only now beginning.

With her last living breath, Tenley “Ten” Lockwood made her choice and picked her realm in the Everlife. Now, as the war between Troika and Myriad rages, she must face the consequences.

Because Ten possesses a rare supernatural ability to absorb and share light, the Powers That Be have the highest expectations for her future—and the enemy wants her neutralized. Fighting to save her Secondlife, she must learn about her realm from the ground up while launching her first mission: convincing a select group of humans to join her side before they die. No pressure, right?

But Ten’s competition is Killian, the boy she can’t forget—the one who gave up everything for her happiness. He has only one shot at redemption: beating Ten at a game she’s never even played. As their throw-downs heat up, so do their undeniable feelings, and soon, Ten will have to make another choice. Love…or victory.

You can find my spoiler free review for Firstlife HERE!

*Thank you to Harlequin Teen & NetGalley – I received an eBook in return for an honest review*

Checkout the book at Harlequin Teens website! Where you can also purchase the ebook or print copies!

Cover Art:

I love that this cover matches the first book so well! They are both gorgeous! I love the hourglass with Troika in the bottom of the glass with I’m assuming the Lifeblood spilling from it! It’s beautiful and fits the books so well.

Writing:

I had a few issues with the writing in this first book that were better in this book! I really enjoyed the writing in this one! I still love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. I didn’t mention this in my review of firstlife, but I love that they add in messages that were sent between characters, set out like IMs! I love the additions of things like this in books, it just adds that bit extra to the story, rather than just reading about the messages in a paragraph like most books do.

I love that the descriptions of each of the places in Troika had enough info to set a basic idea what the places looked like but also allowed for the reader’s imagination to do the rest. I really enjoy that in books!

Plot:

I love the plot of this one, maybe even a little bit more than the first book! I liked that we got to explore more of Troika in this book! A lot was going on in this book! It was action packed and barely ever slow! Basically the entire book you are confused as to who is actually trustworthy as Ten’s trying to figure it out herself and it definitely keeps you on the edge!

Characters:

The first 3/4 of the book I was still on the fence about what side Killian was on! It was driving me wild, but in the end, it’s actually clear, I hope! I still really like Ten, I liked seeing her develop as a person in this book! I liked that we got to see Sloan again and that there was a change in her! We met some awesome new characters that I really enjoyed getting to know like Meredith and Levi. There was of course characters that I enjoyed but I didn’t like as people in the story, I won’t say who as I don’t want to slip in any spoilers!

Overall:

So I gave this book 1/2 more star than Firstlife and that’s because the few little issues I had with the first book were better in this book! I loved the plot and the characters in this book! The cover is gorgeous and the writing was really good! I really have nothing to fault with this book and I hate that I will have to wait around a year for the next book!

Tag Sunday – The Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 8.21.25 pm

So I’m back for another Tag Sunday! I was tagged by Sue’s Reading Corner to do this tag and you can check out her post HERE! I have done this tag before! But I feel like this is one that you could do a tonne of times as it’s not just answering questions! I will just make sure I use different books for this one.

The Rules:

  • Choose 5 books!
  • Randomly set up your books in order.
  • Flip to a random page in the book and write the first two names you see.
  • Put the names in the categories listed below in the order you saw them!
  • Cry at how screwed you are…
  • Tag some more people to join in the fun

My Books:

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them by J.K. Rowling

Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Categories!

The first person to die: Persephone (The Raven Boys)

The first person you trip to escape the zombies: Gansey (The Raven Boys

Well I guarantee I wouldn’t do that, but alright.

The first person to trip you to escape the zombies: Theron (Snow Like Ashes)

The team idiot: Sir (Snow Like Ashes)

Uhmmm, no.

The Brains of the group: Newt (Fantastic Beasts)

I’m okay with this.

The team medic: Tina (Fantastic Beasts)

Well she is a witch, so this could work!

Weapons expert: Sarai (Strange The Dreamer)

Well I don’t know how much experience she has with weapons, so this could be interesting!

The team brawler: Ruby (Strange The Dreamer)

Wouldn’t want to brawl with her!

The first to turn into a zombie: Clary (City of Bones)

Well she is always putting herself in stupid situations.

The team leader: Jace (City of Bones)

Kind of okay with this!

Well this is a pretty good team, just don’t agree about their roles! But as a whole these people would be pretty good! Ruby can set them on fire! Sir, Theron, Clary & Jace are all trained in combat! Tina & Newt have magic on their side! Only Sarai, Gansey & Persephone don’t really have much going for them in a Zombie Apocalypse!

I Tag:

Because I’ll be doing them every Sunday, I am only going to tag 1 person in each so I’m not tagging the same people all the time! So each week I will tag my latest follower! Hopefully there will be a new ones each week to tag.

The Scottish Library

And that is all for this weeks Tag Sunday!

Sunshine Blogger Award #3 – Also I want your opinions!

Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 1.00.31 pm

So yes, this is my 3rd time doing this award! But I love nominating new people who I have recently discovered who I think deserve this!

I need your opinion!

Okay, so this bit has nothing to do with the award. My bad.

So I have been participating in Friday 5@5 for a couple weeks now and really enjoy it. But lately the creator has been getting a little slack and not posting. As she usually posts the next weeks prompt in her weekly Friday 5@5, but hasn’t posted it, I have no prompt to go by. So it’s starting to irritate me a little bit, so I’m going to stop doing that weekly meme.

Here is where I need your opinion, I have been thinking about starting to do discussions posts. I haven’t really done any before on this blog. So I don’t know if people will interact with them or not. The discussion topics will mostly be book related and I will post them on Fridays seen as I no longer have a meme going on on that day. So I just want to know what you think about that? Would you like to read discussion posts by me and interact with them? Just let me know in the comments!! 😊

Onto the award!

I was nominated by Mandy @ Book Princess Reviews for this award! Click HERE to see her post! Thank you heaps for the nomination!

This award has a different logo than the first one I did, so I don’t know if the logo below on the left was created by someone that did the award and people have just kept it going from there or not, but I am just going to leave the old logo in my sidebar.

The Image on the right belongs to me!

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Mandy’s Questions

1. If you had to sort your own personal library, how would you do it – color, author, another way?

Well I currently sort my shelves into a couple different ways, my Read and TBR are separate. My TBR is sorted by colour and my Read are separated into genre. I don’t actually own a TONNE of books, so it’s easy to do that. If I had more books I would like to sort them all by colour, but still keep my TBR separate. I like keeping my TBR in one place, so I can see what I need to read. My read books I would still kind of keep the genres different. Like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, dystopian, retellings, etc would be in one place and Contemporary, Historical Fiction, etc in another. I don’t know why but I like keeping them seperate!

2. How important is a cover on a book for you?

It is fairly important. It’s the first thing you see and that is what is going to catch my eye in a book shop or on BD or Goodreads. It’s the first thing I see, I never buy a book strictly on book cover. But if there is a beautiful book cover that stands out to me, I’m going to have a look at that book synopsis and see if it is actually something I will like more than I’m going to pick up the book with the ugly or cheap looking cover and sus it out. That’s just how it works.

3.What made you choose blogging – not Youtube or etc. but blogging?

Well the main reason is just expressing my views on books. I don’t have anyone in my life that is as bookish as me, so I don’t really have anyone to talk to about books. I can talk to my mum, who listens but half the time has no idea what I’m talking about. Steph and Rena I can kind of talk to as they have read some of the more well known books series over the years. Ryan listens to me and asks questions but doesn’t actually read books himself. So this was my outlet for all my views and opinions on books.

4. What Princess (or Disney character) can you relate the most with? IF you don’t watch much Disney, what fictional character period can you?

Honestly I have never thought I’ve related to any of the Disney Princess or characters really. When I read I have never thought ‘hey that person is relatable to me’.  I don’t know why but that’s just not how I think when reading. There is the odd character who has a similar personality to me, like Rose Hathaway (towards the end of the series) who is fiery, but also calculated and will do anything to help the people she loves. I feel like that’s similar to who I am. But I still don’t see her as ‘relatable’ that’s just not how I think. So I quite simply don’t actually have an answer to this question.

5. If you could only have one song as mood music to reading, what you choose?

None, I CANNOT STAND noise when reading. It drives me insane and distracts me so much. That is my I mostly read in my room which is nearly sound proof and the only thing I can occasionally hear is Duke, the Rottie next door barking if someone comes too close to his house.

6. If you had to have your favorite meal – sans arugula of course – what would it be?

Home made Spaghetti and meatballs, made only by my mum or myself.

7. Do you have a favorite time of year? If so, when is it and why?

Any time that is cold. Which isn’t often and is getting less and less each year. Which is absolute shit. I live in outback Australia and it’s hot majority of the time. Which I can stand and it doesn’t really worry me because I’ve grown up with it and am used to it. But the main thing I love is the cold and being able to wear Hoodies, Jeans, Trackies!  I could wear Jeans 24/7 in the cold, even to bed, which I have done many times! That is bliss to me.

8. What was your last binge watch/read?

I honestly don’t really binge on anything. If I am the only one home I either have OITNB (rewatching) playing on Netflix on my TV or the Harry Potter Audiobooks playing. But that is just for background noise mainly as I’m always doing 52 other things.

9. What was your favorite story (folktale or fairytale maybe?) as a kid?

I didn’t read as a kid and I wasn’t into fairy tales or anything much. I was more into movies, so my favourite movie to watch was Spirit.

10. Do you discuss books with anyone in real life?

Answered that in the 3rd question.

11. If you could meet your favorite author, who would it be and what one question would you ask them?

Well my favourite author is J.K. Rowling and I would love to meet her! I mean, who wouldn’t! And I have no idea what I would ask her. I have millions of questions that I could ask, however I would ask

Does Mad-Eye Moody see the real form of a boggart with his magical eye and what is the boggarts real form?

I nominate:

I will try to not nominate the same people I did on my last two of these posts!

TeacherofYA / Lauren’s Page Turners / Geybie’s Book Blog / Cozy Room Readings / Olga’s Oddish Obsession / Kdrewkthebookworm / Whimsy Pages / Big City Book Worm / The Book Raven / Sue’s Reading Corner / Reading With Rendz

My Questions:

1. What fictional character would you choose to spend the day with in their world?

2. Pick one book that you would choose to completely forget? Whether it be to read it again for the first time or because you disliked it.

3. What food would you like to try from a fictional world? e.g. Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans

4. What colour book spines do you have the most of?

5. What is your favourite book cover out of the books you own? Make sure you say which edition it is or add a photo as most books have multiple covers

6. What’s one item/device you wish you could own from any fictional world?

7. Pretty sure I’ve used this question before, but what power/ability do you wish you could have?

8. What is your favourite genre to read, even if you don’t read it the most?

9. Do you listen to audiobooks? Or want to?

10. Where is your favourite place to read?

11. Are your book shelves full or have you still got room for more?

Well that is all for this award! Do not feel like you have to do this award if you were nominated, but if you do I hope you enjoy answering them!

Book Travelling Thursday – Book With A POC As A Main Character

Screen Shot 2017-03-23 at 8.05.06 pm

Book Travelling Thursday is a weekly meme created by Danielle and Cátia. All you have to do is a pick a book that is related to the theme, the themes are announced on the Goodreads page. Once you have chosen a book you need to find the original cover, the covers from your country, your favourite cover and your least favourite cover.

This week’s prompt is: International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was a couple of days ago… Choose a book with a POC as a main character.

And I’m choosing Rebel of the Sands as it is the only book that I can think of that has a POC as the main character, that I have read that is.

Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

Original Cover:

rebel-of-the-sands

Cover I Own:

rebel-of-the-sands

Favourite Covers:

Least Favourite Covers:

I know this post is a tad short as there is only 3 covers as far as I know. But, like I said it was the only book I could think of that I’ve read.

Goodreads Monday – Words In Deep Blue

Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 8.50.28 pm

This meme was created by Lauren @ Lauren’s Page Turners and I think it’s such an awesome idea to share books on your TBR and introduce people to new books! All you have to do is to pick a book on your TBR and show it off!

If you have read this book please tell me your thoughts, with NO SPOILERS please!!!

I’m choosing books that I own for a while!

Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley

words-in-deep-blue

My Comments:

I received this book in The YA Chronicles subscription box last year sometime. I still haven’t read this book yet, but I hope to soon! This book always intrigued me as it says that the book is about books.

The Book:

Publication Date:  I have no idea, Goodreads says June 6th, 2017. But that’s 3 months away, but I have had a copy of the book since last year sometime.
Publisher: Hodder Children’s Books
Genre: YA Contemporary
Pages: 352

Goodreads Synopsis:

This is a love story. It’s the story of a second-hand bookshop called Howling Books where people leave letters to strangers, or those they love, or want to love, between the pages of books in the Letter Library.

Henry Jones and Rachel Sweetie are best friends. Or they were. Before Rachel moved away to the sea. Now, she’s back, grieving for her brother Cal who drowned in the sea that he loved.

Rachel loves Henry. Henry loves Amy. Amy loves Amy but is happy for Henry to love her too.

This is a book about books. About the power of literature to cradle our past, present and future selves. It’s about how we leave ourselves behind when we die. How we leave our histories in the things we love – like books.

And that is all for this week! Have you read this book? Let me know what you thought if you did! No spoilers please!!

Tag Sunday – The Who Am I Tag

Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 12.16.12 pm

Okay, so I’m a little late with this post as it is currently 11:40am on Monday morning when I’m starting this post. But oh well, it’s still Sunday in other places across the world, so I’m all good!

Just going to jump straight into the questions!

1. What is the meaning of my name?

Well my name is Eliza, not short for Elizabeth! Just Eliza. On about 5 different websites I checked there was nothing specifically for Eliza, they were all for Elizabeth. So Elizabeth means: God is my Oath. Which is hilarious because I’m one of the most non religious people you could meet. I was not named because of this so called meaning, I was named after my Great Grandmother, who was religious, but that is where the religion died in that side of the family as neither my mum or grandmother are religious either.

2. What is my Myer-Briggs personality type? (Link)

Screen Shot 2017-03-15 at 11.51.12 am

I think this is fairly accurate. I don’t mind being the leader and if I want to I will get shit done, so I guess it’s right.

3. What is my Zodiac Sign?

Cancer, unless you consider there to be 13 star signs and not 12, then I’m Gemini.

4. What is my Hogwarts House? (Link)

Gryffindor! Through Pottermore and ever test I have taken, I have been Gryffindor. However the link to the test in this question in my opinion was stupid and the options that were given 90% of the time I would not do any of those things. I still answered as if they were my only options and I got:

Gryffindor – 15
Ravenclaw – 12
Hufflepuff – 10
Slytherin – 9

If you want to know what your house is just go sign up for Pottermore if you haven’t already because I believe that the test J.K. Rowling created is going to be more accurate seen as she created the 4 Hogwarts Houses and their traits to begin with..

5. What is your learning style? (Link)

This is the VARK learning test, which I did not that long ago for one of my Beauty Professional and development assignments for my Diploma of Beauty Therapy, so I didn’t bother doing it again.

Visual – 12
Aural – 10
Read/Write – 11
Kinesthetic – 11

Multimodal learning – which just means that I learn in many different ways not just one specific way works best for me.

6. Am I Right or Left Brain Dominant? (Link)

Screen Shot 2017-03-15 at 12.07.58 pm

7. What is my Blood Type?

No idea.

8. What Career am I meant to have? (Link)

Writer

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. you were born to turn words into magical stories.

9. Which Divergent faction do I belong in? (Link)

Divergent

You deviate from the norm. The aptitude test is inconclusive. It cannot determine just one faction for you, Divergent. Your mind is ceaselessly changing. You’re creative with a strong sense of self and you have a clear picture of who you are and what you want. You stand out from the crowd. You may pose a threat to the norms of society, but you are unwilling to give into them.

10. What does my birth order say about me? (Link)

I’m an only child and they don’t specifically have anything for only childs. However Firstborn says – Natural leader, ambitious and responsible.

I TAG

Because I’ll be doing them every Sunday, I am only going to tag 1 person in each so I’m not tagging the same people all the time! So each week I will tag my latest follower! Hopefully there will be a new ones each week to tag.

These Novel Thoughts

Well that is all for this weeks tag!

Firstlife (Everlife #1) by Gena Showalter – Spoiler Free Review

Screen Shot 2017-03-19 at 1.38.42 pm

Title: Firstlife
Author:
Gena Showalter
Series Name: Everlife
Genre: Fantasy YA
Publication Date: February 23rd, 2016
Pages: 467
Publishers: Harlequin Teen
Rating:

4 star

16853327

Checkout my review for Lifeblood, the next book in the series, HERE!

I’m going to do something slightly different with this review as I want to add in a section about the book covers into my review. For books that only have one cover I will just share my opinion of them and for books that have more than one I will say which I own and which is my favourite.

Cover Art:

This book only has one cover. I like the concept of this cover art, Myriad at the top and Troika at the bottom of the hour glass. Light vs Dark. I also love that they continued this same idea onto the next books cover and I hope they do that for the 3rd book in the trilogy as well.

Writing:

I did enjoy Gena Showalter’s writing. It wasn’t as beautiful and detailed as the last book I read which I just adored the writing of, but it was still well done. I loved all the little quotes at the top of each paragraph, each paragraph swapping between a Myriad and Troika quote. Some of the quotes were directly related to the realms and what was going on in the book, but some of them can be applied to everyday life as well. For Example:

“Your mistakes do not define you, only the emotion you feel.”
– Myriad

Plot:

The plot was really good and fairly unique to anything I have read before. There is some things in this book that are in most YA books, like the being treated crappily by parents, which seems to be popping up in sooo many YA books lately (or the lack of parents) and also the strong female who has some ability/power/job to do that she has only just found out about.. But besides those tropes the actual plot is different from anything I have read. And I really enjoyed it! The story did start off a little slow and a little confusing, it took a few chapters to figure out what exactly was going on, but once you got past that little bit at the start it was really good. The book also ending in a little bit of a shocking twist to do with Sloan, which I was not prepared for.

Characters:

I really liked Ten, of course another strong female character! I also enjoyed Archer & Killian and I liked that they had a backstory and history that came out strong in this book. Sloan was a character where your view of her changed a couple times and you still weren’t sure if she was on the good or bad side. But I get why she did what she did at the end, because of what she was put through. So in my opinion she was still kind of on the good side. Just a very broken good side. She gives me Draco Malfoy Vibes, doing the wrong thing for all the right reasons. There were other characters that came and went in the book that weren’t there long enough to get to know really well, like Elena, Deacon & Clay. I’m guessing we will see more of at least Deacon and Clay in the next book, which I am looking forward to!

Overall:

I enjoyed this book. I only gave it 4 stars though and that was because it was just lacking a little in a couple areas. But I can also overlook them as I enjoyed the rest of it. I will be starting Lifeblood, the second book in the series, later today.

I was interested in this series a little while ago but didn’t plan on reading it until Lifeblood came out as it was coming fairly soon and then I could read both at once. Then I saw Lifeblood on NetGalley and as it was my first time on there, i didn’t really know what to expect, I requested it and amazingly got approved. So I quickly bought an iBook of Firstlife so I could get to Lifeblood straight away!

So that will be my next review!

Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes #1) by Sara Raasch – Spoiler Free Review

screen-shot-2016-12-15-at-1-05-59-pm

Title: Snow Like Ashes

Snow Like Ashes
Genre: Fantasy YA
Publication Date: This edition published September 15th, 2015 (originally published October 14th, 2014)
Pages: 416

Rating:
4 and a half Star

Goodreads Synopsis:

A heartbroken girl. A fierce warrior. A hero in the making.

Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.

Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.

So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.

Wow, another favourite! There has been so many amazing books that I read this year!

Writing:

The writing was amazing, it was very engaging and never left me confused. I can’t stand it when you have to read something 3 times over to figure out what the hell is going on, especially in action scenes, that wasn’t the case in this book. The writing was beautiful and very fast paced.

I also like maps! Which isn’t exactly writing, but it’s part of the physical book. So I love it, it has a map in the front. Maps just make it so much easier to figure out where things are placed in a fantasy world, especially when I am shit at remembering whether they said this place was North, West, South or East of wherever and trying to figure out where things would kinda be placed. I also like following where the characters are travelling to and from on a map. That might just be me though haha 😳.

Plot:

The plot was really goos and so action packed. Yes there was some non-action packed parts, but that was fine, there needs to be a happy medium in books.. Too much action just gets kinda boring, to me anyway, there is going to be times when not much is going on and it’s great to show that too. That kinda went off on a bit of a tangent, but oh well. Anyway, the plot was well done, it wasn’t predictable and had twists and turns to keep me interested right until the end.

Characters:

I loved the characters, all of them really, well except Angra… But that’s because he is a d*ck. But I still loved him as a character in this book, but not as a person.. That makes sense, right? Meira was, yes a typical feisty strong female character, but that is something I will never get sick of in books. Mather, you kinda loved him and wanted to slap him sometimes, but he is still amazing, just dude, mixed signals! Theron is an amazing character, but his dad, Noam… Hmmm kind of a, yeah I’m not saying anymore… No spoilers here! Sir (William), at the start I was like just let her go and do what she wants, but now I understand why he was protective… Again, No Spoilers!

I could sit here all day saying each one of the other characters are amazing too, but quite frankly that would take too much time and I have shit to do haha.

Overall:

I loved it. It’s another new favourite! I was planning on buying the next two books when I was away last Friday, but the Bookshop I went to (QBD) didn’t have them and there was a signing going on for some Iron Man book or some shit and there was just people everywhere because of that and it’s school holidays and everyone is Christmas shopping and I just wanted to get out of there! So I will be purchasing the other books on either iBooks or Scribd today and starting the next one tonight! I’ll buy physical copies from the Book Depository soon.

Let me know your thoughts!

* I have since changed this review from a 5 star rating to a 4 and a half. I enjoyed Frost Like Night even more than this one, so it is a 5 star, this one is a and a half and Ice Like Fire is a 4 star book.*
