This Meme is hosted by Thoughts On Tomes and the prompts can be found on Goodreads.

This week’s prompt is: Future Classics
–Let us know the books you think will be considered classics one day!

How old does a book have to be before it is considered a classic, that is what confuses me. But these books or series are the last 10 or 20 years?

1.  The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I feel like this book is already kind of considered a classic. It’s a book that I think everyone should read, even if you don’t usually read Historical Fiction. It’s eye opening and emotional and definitely a future classic, if not already!

2. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

I feel like this book is so unique and could definitely be a classic. There was so much hype and love for this book when it came out and when Gemina was released. I actually haven’t heard many people say they have disliked it! It’s definitely something that will be remembered!

3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This book address so many issues that many people have had to deal with in their lives. This book is another one that everyone should read. I know not everyone likes this book, but I still think it should be a future classic.

4.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This book came out in 2008, but when it’s movie came out everyone started reading the series even more and then reading all these other dystopian. That’s kinda when the phase started with it. And because of that and it just so well know, that is why I consider it a future dystopian. Not necessarily the other 2 books in the series and I know a lot of people have issues with Allegiant, but this book in particular definitely

5. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

You had to know this was coming! Harry Potter is already a classic really! And I don’t think I need to explain this one.

Well that is all for today!

    1. I just read A Dramer’s Library’s post and they have The Book Thief, Wallflower and HP. And someone else had HP and The Book Thief. So 100% agree with that!

And yes you do! It’s sooo good! 👌🏻👌🏻

  1. I almost included HP in my list this week, but decided not too just because I knew plenty of other people would, haha. Great choices, though 🙂
