When Sam met Grace, he was a wolf and she was a girl. Eventually he found a way to become a boy, and their loved moved from curious distance to the intense closeness of shared lives.
That should have been the end of their story. But Grace was not meant to stay human. Now she is the wolf. And the wolves of Mercy Falls are about to be killed in one final, spectacular hunt.
Sam would do anything for Grace. But can one boy and one love really change a hostile, predatory world? The past, the present, and the future are about to collide in one pure moment–a moment of death or life, farewell or forever.
You can find my reviews for Shiver and Linger by clicking the appropriate names. I will be making reference to them so I would suggest reading them if you haven’t already.
Again I like the cover, they are all very similar which I like because they are obvious that they are the same series. I love how they match the colour of the text to the colour of the cover. Shiver has blue text, Linger has green and Forever has red. This is very unique and I have never seen a book before that didn’t have black text, so this was a cool touch.
On of my views from Linger review still stands in this book, it’s hard to distinguish between characters POV. I didn’t find the continuous use of the same descriptive words as much of an issue in this book, I don’t know if that was because it improved or if I was just used to it at this point and didn’t notice.
At the end of this book the author does say that she is saying goodbye to Mercy Falls and this world, so that is just a bit of prove from those curious that her 4th book in the series Sinner was an add on after the series was concluded.
This book was fairly action packed, well at least more than the first two book were. The ending was a little underwhelming though and left a fair few loose ends not tied. The part up until Isabel drives her SUV to the wolves to push them into the woods was action packed and kept me hooked but then the next chapter was a few hours later and just left a big gap of not explained. Grace had said it was 2 hours from Beck’s House to the lodge and that was by driving, it would have taken ages for the wolves to get from that big clearing to the lodge so how did that happen? At first they were taking directions from Cole sending the images but he was out of the question after that so how did Sam know where to go? Having only been there once as a human and not have full human consciousness as a wolf? How did they manage that. I get that when fleeing into the woods away from that clearing and away from the helicopter that would have been out of fear but what made them keep going? It honestly seemed like she got to the scene with Isabel and was like shit I want to get the rest of the story done in the next 20 pages so cut out a heap of info…
There was just so many things not explained?! And that was meant to be the end of the series, so is that why she wrote Sinner, to fix everything up that was never answered? Or does it still not get explained in that one?
I like the feeling of getting to the end of a series and everything falls into place, but I just feel confused and like there should be more.
I’m not going to say much for this as I have already explained my feelings in the last 2 reviews and most of that still applies. I like Cole & Isabel’s relationship, if you can call it that, better than Grace and Sam’s. Cole & Isabel’s just feels more real, they are perfect and that’s perfectly fine. Grace & Sam’s still feels like insta love, that ‘perfect love’ that you literally only see in books and movies and is completely unrealistic.
I’m glad we saw a bit more of Rachel in this one, I was confused why she was so absent in the last one.. So that was a bit better in this one.
I like Isabel’s bitchiness, it reminds me of myself actually.
I like Grace’s Mum a bit more in this one, she seemed more realistic, her Father is still just a tool.
That about all for the characters I think.
I enjoyed this one a little more than book 2 but not enough to give it a 4 star rating, there was still issues and confusion but overall it was pretty good.
And I have finished reading ALL the books on my June TBR! Except the audiobook of Gemina, but I’m waiting for next credit to come in on Audible for that one, will get to it as soon as that comes through, it’s the next couple days I believe!
