For June I’m challenging myself to read books I already owned prior to 2023! Luckily at the start of the year I added all those books to my reading tracker, so I know exactly which ones those are. While this is my physical TBR, I’m allowing myself to read them in any format. So, let’s jump in!
Currently Reading

I’ve only just started these two in the last day or two, so still early but both enjoyable at the moment. Murder Your Employer I’m listening to on audiobook and I’m about 30% through. I want to get my hands on a physical copy of this one to see the format as it’s an interesting mix of text book and journal entries so far. Fourth Wing I’m reading physically and I’m 130ish pages in right now. This one had me hooked from chapter one. I was legit tearing up in chapter one… Do I think I know where the romance plot line is going as it’s already a little predictable? Yes. The rest of the plot I have also have some guesses but it’s not as obvious. Either way, I’m keen to see how it all unfolds!
Audiobooks

Two of these books are actually on my 10 Books to Read in 2023 list as well, which I’m a little behind on. So I thought it was a good time to knock some of them off the list. Those three are Wolfsong, Forging Silver into Stars & Blood Scion. All of which I’m very keen for! Defend the Dawn was on my May TBR but I didn’t get a chance to pick it up, so this month will be the goal. It’s actually ridiculous that I haven’t read it yet considering how much I enjoyed Defy the Night… All of Us Villains has been on a couple TBRs and this one is a maybe on the audiobook route. I did try it on audiobook before but it was during a slump, so I don’t know if my issue was the slump or the audiobook. So I will give it a go but maybe swap it to physical if needed. Lastly on the list is Beasts of Prey, this was one I picked up and Big w or something as it looked interesting but still don’t know much about it. I do have access to the audiobook though, so what better time than in June?
Graphic Novels

I’ve been in a real Graphic Novel kick lately, so there is a chance that I may get through all of these. And these are the only Graphic Novels I haven’t read that I owned before 2023. So if I get through all these I will allow myself to read outside of that criteria. There is a bit of everything in this list. Gender Queer is a Graphic Memoir, Smashed is a Horror Manga, Demon in the Wood is a fantasy Graphic Novel set in the Grishaverse, Lore Olympus: Volume Two is a contemporary reimagining of Greek Mythology, Brazen is a Graphic Biography collection about rebel women throughout history & On a Sunbeam is an LGBT+ Sci-Fi Graphic Novel.
Physical Books

Yes, this is a tad ambitious as I’ve only been reading approx. 3 physical books a month and I’ve still got about 370 pages of my current read to get through. But, we will give it a go. Bygone Badass Broads is an anthology about badass women throughout history, so I’ll be able to read one or two of those stories a day and slowly get through it. The Detectives Guide to Ocean Travel is a middle grade mystery, so that shouldn’t be too difficult to get through. Then we have Belladonna & The Final Strife which are both fantasy books, though Belladonna is YA & The Finale Strife is Adult LGBT+. Then last The Omega Factor which is a Thriller. So again I feel like I have a good mix of genres seen as I’m not particularly leaning towards any specific genre right now. I’m kinda floating between genres at the moment.
Well, that is everything on my TBR for the month of June! Let me know in the comments what you are most looking forward to pick up.

I’ve only read a couple on your TBR. I loved Wolf Song and Bygone Badass Broads was also really good. I’ve never heard of Murder your Employers it sounds really good!

Good to hear about Wolfsong! To be honest I haven’t heard much feedback about it. And Murder your Employer is very interesting so far!
