D – The ABC Book Challenge

For this challenge, every week you make a post talking about the best books you’ve read and the ones you are keen for on your TBR that start with a specific letter.
So this week I will be doing the letter D. I will not be including the word ‘The’ as the first word.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

This is the first book in the, now series, The Darkest Minds. I love this series so much and I can’t wait to get to the new 4th book, The Darkest Legacy. There is so much to love about this book including the characters, Ruby, Chubs, Zu & Liam! Chubs is probably my favourite of the main group. The world is also very detailed and vivid. The plot is also hectic & full of twists and turns.

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

This is one of my favourite books of last year! Not only is it super rare to find a good standalone fantasy but this book is also full of diversity. The world of Gomorrah is extremely unique and interesting. The abilities in this book are also really interesting and I would have loved to learn more about them, but I’m not complaining as like it said, standalones are rare!

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

This is the first book in a fantasy duology (also fairly rare). I listened to these books on audiobook & I highly recommend them! The audiobooks are very well done and the narration is really good. As for the book itself, this has a pirate ship full of badass females and this book has pirates & sirens! What more do you want?

Draekora by Lynette Noni

Definitely my favourite book out of this list! Draekora is the 3rd book in The Medora Chronicles series. The Medoran Chronicles is my 2nd favourite series of all time! Only second to Harry Potter. This series is filled with amazing friendships, hectic adventures and a super interesting world! Also, did I mention that it has dragons?!

Dragon on Trial by Tui T. Sutherland

More dragons! This is the 2nd book in a fun middle-grade series, Menagerie. Like I said, this book is really fun and entertaining. The first book starts off when a young boy wakes up to a Griffin cub hiding under his bed. This book is full of amazing and interesting magical creatures! If you’re looking for a fun, easy and entertaining read, then I highly recommend this series!

  1. I go for the D with the challenge as well! The Darkest Minds is simply SO INCREDIBLE, I’m glad to see it on your list 💕
I have Daughter of the Burning City in my TBR!, I’m all for a good standalone-fantasy book, so I have to read that as soon as possible 😍

  2. I’m reading Darkest Minds right now, 40% in and loving it. Dividing Eden is a goodun I finished that one last week. I may be biased though as I love Joelle Charbonneau!

    1. Yay!! And awesome. I haven’t heard too much about Dividing Eden since it actually came out. I’ve never read anything by that author I don’t think. So I will have to see how it goes.
