Writing:
If you’ve read my reviews for the other 3 books in this series then you will already know that I love Maggie stiefvater’s writing! It’s beautiful and I love the way she describes things, it makes everything feel so real. I love that she chose to do this in Multi POV, I feel like she did something different with her writing depending on whose point of view we were viewing form.
Plot:
I have loved the plot of the first 3 books and this one I think was even better. There was so much going on and so many new things that we discover and find out. I loved it, this book was definitely never dull! It was also pretty unpredictable, there was a couple little things that earlier in I had thought ‘I bet this happens’ and it did but there was also a lot of times that I had 5 ideas going through my head of what could be the result of something happening in the book and I was completely wrong with all of my ideas! It was great that there were so many twists and turns, it made the book one that you just didn’t want to put down!
Characters:
I love them all! The originals and the new ones to this book. There isn’t any character in the book that I didn’t enjoy, obviously I didn’t like some of them, as that was the point, but I still enjoyed them being in the book. Gansey is just amazing and such a great character to read about because of the way he thinks of things and sees the world. Ronan is probably tying with Gansey for my favourite characters in this series. Ronan was always so mysterious and hard to read but he is so loyal and caring. I guessed from the start a certain thing about him which I saw was correct in The Dream Thieves, I’m pretty sure, and that same thing (hopefully you know what I’m talking about if you’ve read it) came through even more in this book and I loved it! Adam was another character that was kinda mysterious to some degree. I really enjoyed seeing him and how he interacted with Cabeswater. I also really love the relationship he has with the other 3 boys and Blue and also Persephone. Noah was a little bit more distant in this book, but he still turned up occasionally. I do enjoy Noah and how quiet he is and I love that we saw a little snippet of what he was before. Maura, Persephone and Calla are always so interesting to read about. The idea of psychics has always fascinated me and the way Maggie writes about them is so interesting. I could go on name all the characters for hours, but I am only going to talk about one more, Henry, I love that we had a new member of the group come into this book. He was so interesting and different, the way he said and went about things it was refreshing to be hearing about a new person in the group.
Overall:
Well if you haven’t been able to tell by now, I love this book & this series in general! It was never boring or slow and I only ever put it down if I had to or I was falling asleep haha! I feel like this is a series that I could reread and realise so many things that I didn’t pick up on the first time! It’s such an amazing world and definitely a new favourite!
