Book Travelling Thursday – A Spooky Read

Book Travelling Thursday is a weekly meme created by Danielle and Cátia. All you have to do is a pick a book that is related to the theme, the themes are announced on the Goodreads page. Once you have chosen a book you need to find the original cover, the covers from your country, your favourite cover and your least favourite cover.

This week’s prompt is: Halloween is here! Choose a spooky read that you have either read or want to read.

I chose A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and this is a book that is on my TBR.

Original Cover:

Cover from my Country:

Again, no Australian book cover

Favourite Covers:

Left: Candlewick Press 2013 Release
Middle: Candlewick Press Movie-Tie in 2016 Release
Right: Original Candlewick Press edition.

I love the one on the right as it looks creepy and sounds like it would match the story.

Least Favourite:

Left: Walker Books Un-illustrated edition 2015 Release
Right: Spanish Nube De Tinta 2014 Release

These covers are just kinda boring to me.

Well, that’s it for today! Let me know which cover you like best and send me a link to your BTT!

I love the Candlewick cover! It’s very pretty, and it does look a lot less scary than the other covers.

I absolutely love the Candlewick Press 2013 Press cover, but from what I’ve heard about this book, the original does suit the story better. I really want to read this!

I really like both the 2013 and 2016 Candlewick editions, they have quite a ‘clean’ feel to the designs.

There really is something perfectly eerie about the original cover from 2011, though. Just the image of the tree monster coming up the lawn — awesome.

I haven’t read this book before, but I do love the Original cover! It’s VERY creepy! I heard they are making a movie for it. I’ll have to check it out 😀 Great Post! 😀
