“King of Flesh and Bone & Queen of Rot and Pain” by Liv Zander is a romantasy series with an obsessive vengeful king and a widow as protagonists. The story involves a unique magic system and world, but loses points due to problematic characters and lack of chemistry and world building. The second book was a more enjoyable read for its deeper plot and character dynamics.
