This is a bit shorter list than last month but I’m super excited about this. Also, 5 out of 6 of these have LGBT+ rep! The LGBT+ rep recently has been amazing. Now before I start, I know basically nothing about half these books as I either read a small part of the synopsis and was like fuck yeah or heard a very brief description on TikTok and was like fuck yeah. So this will probably be the most uninformative post I’ve every written but oh well. Let’s jump in!
Firstly we have The Wicked Bargain a Latinx pirate fantasy starring a transmasculine nonbinary teen. Ahhhh yes, thank you! Honestly I only read the first line of the synopsis and added to this list.
Next is the only not LGBT+ book which is Murder Your Employer. A name like that was enough to intrigue me to be honest. I did begin to read the synopsis but this line of the synopsis had me intrigued and I didn’t need to read more:
The McMasters Conservatory for the Applied Arts, a luxurious, clandestine college dedicated to the fine art of murder where earnest students study how best to “delete” their most deserving victim.
Then we have She is a Haunting which is a LGBT+ Horror with a house with a weird apetite. I am confused but also very interested.
Planning Perfect is an YA LGBT+ romcom with an asexual character and it’s about planning a wedding. I’ve been more into reading romances lately so I thought this would be a cute fun one and it’s sapphic so bonus points!
Then is Always the Almost which I’ve been hearing about a heap on TikTok. All I know is the MC’s New Years resolutions are to win his ex back and beat his arch-enemy in a piano competition. Oh and it’s queer, so I’m down.
Lastly is Where Darkness Blooms which is giving Wilder Girls & House of Hollow vibes with that cover. Seriously what is it with covers with flowers coming out of women… This one is a YA Thriller about a town where women are disappearing & the land craves blood. I have no idea what that means but keen to find out!
