This Year I Am Reading…

This is a fun book but I’m also not fully hooked on it! I’m enjoying it but it’s just missing something for me for some reason. I love Seanan McGuires writing but this one just isn’t living up to the other unfortunately.

Mooncakes by Wendy Zu & Suzanne Walker

This is going to be tough to beat! Mooncake is a beautiful graphic novel! It features a main character that wears a hearing aid, lesbian grandmothers who own a bookshop cafe that has a secret backroom full of magic books & a female/female romance right at the centre. This is amazingly diverse & also a very fun read.

Mooncakes is definitely the winner here! It was just amazing. Over the Woodward Wall isn’t living up to that standard unfortunately.
