So apparently I am going to have another crazy month! This month I am already participating in the duodecathon & cohosting the Rainbow ReadAThon. But now am also participating in a quest! So, you will see double ups with this post, my August TBR and upcoming Duodecathon & Rainbow ReadAThon TBRs! This will be my second time participating in one of Read At Midnight‘s awesome events!
Date: Sunday 13th of August to Sunday 10th of September

Okay so first of all, there is a lot to this quest and if you want to know all the info then head on over to her sign up post HERE! But for the basics! You pick a character class (Knight, Mage, Bard or Rogue) and complete the challenges for their quest (Purple squares – following the colour coded dots on the board). Then you can also complete extra quests (blue squares). And if you complete all of your character’s quests then you can go on to do anothers! There is also a scoring system (EXP & HP) but you don’t have to participate in that part if you don’t want to.
Everyone starts with 10 EXP & 10 HP points!
Okay, so I think that is all the info you need! I am going to split this TBR up into 3 parts. The TBR for the Character Quest, The TBR for the extra quests (blue squares) & The TBR for if I finish my Character Quest and I move onto any of the other character!
This first book of a series
Book with a verb in its title
A book with a weapon on its cover
A book with a red cover
A book that has a TV/movie adaptation
For this I’m not doing all the challenges as some I’m just not interested in or don’t have books for.
Expansion – Read a companion novel or short story
This one is a heap of short stories so I think it definitely covers this quest.
Time Warp – A book set in either the past or the future
Mini-Game – Read a graphic novel, novella or poem collection
Grind – A book with 500+ pages
So for my extra character is going to be Mage! As the Mage & Knight quests crossover on the corner, this one only has 4 extra quests.
A book set in a different world
A book based on mythology
A book that contains magic
A book with a one word title

Great TBR! I was originally going to go ahead and figure out my TBR beyond just the Mage quests, but I decided it’s too far in advance for me to do just yet, lmao. After looking at your post, though, I almost wish I had gone ahead and done it!

Well because I’m doing 2 ReadAThons as well that cross over with this I kinda needed to so I could figure out when I need to read what and what could be used for multiple challenges. I actually had to write out a reading plan of when I need to read each of them books. but it have worked it out now! So hopefully I will get them all done when I need them.

That makes sense! I am trying to make this overlap with #ARCAugust as much as possible until the end of August, so I’ll have to re-evaluate closer to time for the September part of the challenge, but I don’t think I’ll be doing any September challenges otherwise. Good luck!

That sounds like a plan. Hopefully September will be more chill. I’ll still be doing Duodecathon as it’s monthly but I think I’ll pass on everything else! 😂

I’ll probably devote September as much as possible to random reads I’ve been wanting to get to (like The Dream Thieves), because in October, we’re planning a big Halloween-themed event for Life & Lit! Hopefully we’ll be posting some more details in a few weeks so people can start preparing, but Melanie and I are SUPER excited about it. 😂

Yeah I’m just going to work on getting some of my eBooks read as I have a fair few but when I’m thinking about what I want to read next I don’t really think about them. I mainly just think of the physical books on my TBR unless I’m looking for something to cover a challenge.
And there is always tonnes of Hallowe’en themed ReadAThons in October! I have never done one as I don’t exactly participate in Halloween at all as it isn’t an Australian thing. Well now it kinda is because everyone is trying to make it Australian too… but yeah I don’t usually do Halloween themed things. But depending on what’s involved I will participate.

Ahh I didn’t know it wasn’t a big deal there! The more you know, heh. I don’t think the event itself will be unapproachable for people who don’t celebrate the day so hopefully you’ll enjoy ❤

Yeah it’s not big. People are trying to make it a thing but it’s really not working haha. Everyone usually dressed up and gets drunk at the pub but that’s about the extent of it. 😂😂
