I really enjoy Agatha Christie books! True I have only read 2 so far, but I have loved both a lot! I really want to read more but I have currently put a ban on myself for buying books, so it will have to wait for a little while.

There are tonnes of covers for this book as it has been out for over 80 years! I do really like the one I own, however I feel like there should be more snow around considering. But overall I really like this cover!
Writing:
Agatha Christie’s writing is amazing and I cannot fault it. I really like how mysterious everything is kept right until the end! I do kinda wish that there was a glossary of sorts for translation of some of the words used in the book as even though they were specifically necessary to know the meaning of, I was curious and kept googling things to find out what they meant. That is the only thing I wish this book had, but it’s not necessary.
Plot:
Well I won’t speak of the plot much as I don’t want to give anything away as the entirety of the plot leads to the end conclusion. However I do want say that I agree with M. Bouc & Poirot’s decision at the end. I know alot of people didn’t believe this was right to do, but I do, even though it’s not specifically the law abiding way.
Characters:
I feel like these books aren’t books that you can really form an opinion of the characters, as besides Poirot himself you only find out pure facts about the characters and can’t really form a personal opinion on that. So I won’t say much about them, however I really enjoy Poirot and I really wish that I could figure things out like he does!
Overall:
I really enjoyed this book! I love reading mysteries even though I don’t read them as much as I do Fantasy. I really want to read more though! I also think that this book is a good starting book for someone starting into Agatha Christie’s works!

Agatha Christie was one of the first authors that made me fall in love with crime and thrillers. I absolutely adore her books and I think I read quite a lot of them when I was younger. Definitely would love to get my collection of crime classics back and reread them whenever I feel the reading slump approaching 🙂

Agatha Christie is my favorite mystery writer. I struggle deciding between Poirot and Miss Marple as my preferred sleuth, but both always delight. My ultimate favorite story is “And Then There Were None,” as each individual character and his or her story captivate you. When you get to the end and are stuck thinking, “which of these two is the murderer,” you’re floored as it’s the two you don’t want to suspect.
Murder on the Orient Express is my second favorite and it has a very similar type approach; you get all the way to the end and think… but it’s impossible, who killed the victim? Poirot is a funny guy; he always does the supposed right thing, but like you pointed out in this ending, it’s not quite what you’d expect. There is an air of humanity about him despite his desire for law.
I haven’t found an author who’s style matches Christie, but there are plenty of fantastic mystery and suspense writers. It’s amazing how much fun you get from a ~100 year old story with minimal violence and torture as you do with more current fiction. I love both kinds, but it’s only a great author who can accomplish it.

And Then There Were None is the other Agatha Christie book I have read and really enjoyed it. I didn’t figure it out until right at the bed when everything was explained. However with this one towards the end I guessed what happened and was right, so I was pretty happy with that! I didn’t figure out all the details but I was think ‘I bet this happened’ and was correct.

This is one of (I think) only three Christie novels where I remember the ending (the culprit) so I never re-read it.
