This meme was created by Lauren @ Lauren’s Page Turners and I think it’s such an awesome idea to share books on your TBR and introduce people to new books! All you have to do is to pick a book on your TBR and show it off!

If you have read this book please tell me your thoughts, with NO SPOILERS please!!!

I want to read more well known books for a while that I just haven’t been able to get around to yet! So I’m probably going to be showing off some of those books for a while! It will also hopefully get me keen to get to them sooner!

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

My Comments:

So there is a tonne of hype around basically all of V.E Schwab/Victoria Schwab’s books! I’m keen to get to this book soon! The parallel Universes really interest me and especially that the book is based in London, well different versions of london, which I love reading about!

The Book:

Publication Date:  November 1st, 2014
Publisher: Titan Books
Genre: YA Fantasy
Pages: 384

Goodreads Synopsis:

Kell is one of the last travelers–magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes connected by one magical city.

There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, and with one mad King–George III. Red London, where life and magic are revered–and where Kell was raised alongside Rhy Maresh, the roguish heir to a flourishing empire. White London–a place where people fight to control magic and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London. But no one speaks of that now.

Officially, Kell is the Red traveler, ambassador of the Maresh empire, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.

Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She robs him, saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

And that is all! I love everything about the new theme I have on this blog, except that the Quotes are in a really big font, I don’t get why! So I won’t be putting goodreads synopsis in quote form anymore, just using a different colour font instead, that way it still stands out!

  1. I have this series on my tbr – however, i was disappointed with This Savage Song, so I’ve been less inclined to pick it up whilst book shopping, to be honest
