So, today I went and watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in cinema! It was amazing! When I got home I read the Script. Reading the script directly after watching the movie is really good because you can picture everything clearly in your head as it happened in the movie. I would suggest to watch the movie first. As it is a script there isn’t much description of what characters, beasts and places looks like. So watching the movie first lets you picture it in your head while reading.

Also check out this interactive website for Fantastic Beasts, its basically like a Pottermore for Fantastic Beasts! It have everything from interactive maps to info on the Characters, beasts and Magic in North America! Link HERE!

Script:

The script was well written! Of course it was, it was J.K. Rowling! Even though there wasn’t as much detail or description this book was easy to follow. Like I said above I did watch the movie earlier today, so picture everything was easy. But I liked that if you just read the location of the scene and what was happening and the speaking and just ignored the other little bits, you can just picture this as a normal book. That is how I started to read it after a while as I found it more interesting and because I could already picture it I didn’t need the book to tell me it was a Close up, close on, wide shot and that sought of thing.

Also, the book itself! Like come on! It’s gorgeous, the design in that book is absolutely amazing and I just loved that there was little drawings of all the creatures in front of each Chapter?! I don’t know what they are called in scripts, but oh well.

Here is some photos of the designs in the book!

Movie:

It started with the theme song “Hedwig’s Theme” that started all the Harry Potter movies and it was like stepping straight back into the wizarding world.. I’m so glad they did that! The Special Effects were of course brilliant, especially the Beasts of course and seeing inside Newts Case was amazing and kind of mind blowing. I enjoyed the actors! Especially that little slice of Johnny Depp at the end, even if he is a bad guy… But who doesn’t love a little bit of Johnny Depp in movies! Or a lot, both is good. Sorry, got side tracked, anyway!

I loved that there was little mentions of different things from the Wizarding World we know! Like of course Dumbledore and Hogwarts, and even a mention of Hufflepuff as Newt was in Hufflepuff and has a house scarf in this case. And also obviously Grindelwald is talked about a lot more as it was the time that Grindelwald was terrorising the British Wizarding Community.

Have you watched Fantastic Beasts yet!? Did you love it!?

  1. Oh I so agree with you about just being able to picture everything in your head when you read the script afterward. I know a lot of people were wary of the format, but once you get into it, it is an awesome experience.

And I LOVED the intro. Not going to lie, I definitely shed a happy tear when Hedwig’s theme played with the WB logo.

Johnny Depp is actually the only casting choice I’m hesitant with. Not that he’s a bad actor, but his characters tend to be off the wall and I’m not sure His character in this warrants that HOWEVER Jo loves his involvement, so that’s what matters, right? Maybe we’ll get to see more of his range!
