screen-shot-2016-10-28-at-10-57-18-am

So, today I received my October YA Chronicles and my October Geek Gear boxes, so the unboxings for both of those will be going up today! Along with my Friday Finds post which I do ever Friday.. So sorry for spamming the feed today! But I want to get them up now as I hate Scheduling posts and I will be busy Saturday and Sunday I want to start my Hauls, Wrap Ups and TBRs for the end of the month.. So my bad, but it’s going to happen haha.

What You Need To Know About the Subscription Box

The YA Chronicles is based in Australia so for me this is great, being Australian the shipping is pretty cheap and the box gets to me quickly!

Here is the link to their website!

It says on the website that there is international shipping, so I’m assuming they ship everywhere, so I’m sorry if they don’t ship to your country!

I will only be posting costing in AUD, so if you want to know what it would cost in your country then you can go here to convert it, or comment your currency and I will tell you.

Cost of the Box: $29.99 AUD
Shipping to Aus and NZ: $9.99 AUD (this includes tracking)
Shipping internationally: $24.99 AUD (this includes tracking)

Also, this subscription box is not automatically recurring, so you do have to purchase it every month, which is good because it means you can easily pick and choose the themes that you want to purchase

In this box every month, you receive a new release paperback YA book, a TYAC bookmark with that month’s theme on the back and 2-5 other bookish items. Each month is themed and the theme is announced as soon as the subscription box goes on sale!

What I received this month!

Volume Fourteen: Against All Odds

I will write under each photo what is written on the description card that you get in the box.

Manon Lip Balm

img_5692

We absolutely love BehindThePages’ products and so we definitely had to include a Manon Lip Balm from her new range of Book Girlfriend Scents. Made from all natural products, it smells of dragons blood, rain, fire, amber moss and teak. The colour of the wingleader’s iron teeth, the balm glides on smooth to nourish your lips.

Also,  I’m assuming the Manon is from Throne of Glass.. I haven’t read the books, I just googled it.

Honestly, I won’t be using this.. The actual product is great a sparkly and that colour comes off on your lips and makes them look bruised and also in my opinion it stinks.. I do like BehindThePages other products!

Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven

img_5696

Jennifer Niven has done it again with another heart-wrenching story. Holding Up The Universe is our book of the month and it is a beautifully poignant novel. Everyone thinks they know Libby and Jack. She was dubbed America’s fattest teen and he is the most popular guy in school. But don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Thanks to a cruel joke, they are brought together find some thing they never thought they would find in each other.

Goodreads Synopsis:

Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout, the girl once dubbed “America’s Fattest Teen.” But no one’s taken the time to look past her weight to get to know who she really is. Following her mom’s death, she’s been picking up the pieces in the privacy of her home, dealing with her heartbroken father and her own grief. Now, Libby’s ready: for high school, for new friends, for love, and for every possibility life has to offer. In that moment, I know the part I want to play here at MVB High. I want to be the girl who can do anything.

Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin, too. Yes, he’s got swagger, but he’s also mastered the impossible art of giving people what they want, of fitting in. What no one knows is that Jack has a newly acquired secret: he can’t recognize faces. Even his own brothers are strangers to him. He’s the guy who can re-engineer and rebuild anything, but he can’t understand what’s going on with the inner workings of his brain. So he tells himself to play it cool: Be charming. Be hilarious. Don’t get too close to anyone.

Until he meets Libby. When the two get tangled up in a cruel high school game—which lands them in group counseling and community service—Libby and Jack are both pissed, and then surprised. Because the more time they spend together, the less alone they feel. Because sometimes when you meet someone, it changes the world, theirs and yours.

      2. Hopefully I do too! There is just so many books I want to read and lately I have been lazy and have just been listening to the Audiobooks for Harry Potter instead of reading Hollow City, which Is what I should be reading

      3. I’ve been in a huge slump the last couple months. So I know how you feel when it comes to not reading something you should be reading! I’m supposed to have Miss Peregrine’s read and reviewed by Friday, but uh, not happening. Lol.

  1. See…I’m hesitant to order subscription boxes: they need to be worth your money; you ended up with a decent necklace, a lip balm you won’t use, a temp tattoo (temp being the operative word), a bookmark, and a copy of Holding Up The Universe…I don’t know how much that box cost, but was it worth it? The money spent on it I mean?
That’s why I hesitate…Fairyloot looks semi-decent and so does Owlcrate…I’m sure you’re limited in AUS so I don’t know what boxes you can choose from, but let me know if I’m wrong here. I think it’s all about the “what if” of the box…that’s what hooks me. It’s like gambling plus Christmas combined!
I hope I don’t sound rude by knocking the box. I just hope you’re happy with the results is all. 😘
